Unfortunately, this is the first time this guest has reached out with any issues or concerns regarding their stay. We did not receive any communication before or during their stay. We try to respond to our guests needs and always do our best to work with each guest on any issues that arise. As we describe to all guests, this is our vacation home and although it is rented out often to our Airbnb guests, it is not empty of all our belongings. In our 2 ½ years of hosting our cabin, we have never had a complaint about any of our personal belongings being in the cabin, the size of the cabin, the lack of closet space, the "rules", etc. Our "rules" are very consistent with other rental properties in the area and our cleaning fee pays for the cleaning service to "clean" the house (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, bathrooms, dusting, etc.) - not to do the dishes or the laundry (consistent with most cleaning services in this area). In an effort to keep the cleaning fees reasonable, we do ask that guests run and empty the dishwasher, wash/dry a load of towels and start a load of sheets. Our cleaners finish the sheets and remake all of the beds. Again, this has not been an issue for past guests. We do not wear shoes in the cabin and we ask the same of our guests - and again, we have never had a complaint. Our kitchen/dining room/living room is in one large room - with a TV, therefore it is set up to allow for guests to sit at the table and watch TV if they desire. We do not allow food/drink in other rooms to avoid any unnecessary spills, stains, etc. - again, never a past complaint. Guests are required to remove their trash because there is no daily trash pick up - only weekly - and we are not allowed to put the cans out on the street on any other day. Our cabin is 1300 sq. ft. - not huge, but not small. It is certainly priced fairly for the size and the accommodations. We try to show enough pictures of every room to allow guests the opportunity to see the space and make the right choice for their family/situation. We are very committed to the satisfaction of our guests and to ensuring they have the experience they were expecting. Although it appears this was not the ideal set up for this guest, Karen did not reach out with any concerns at all before or during her stay. We have received excellent feedback from our other guests and look forward to continuing to provide excellent service and accommodations to future guests.
