CHECK-IN TIME: 3:00pm or later
CHECK-OUT TIME: 10:00am
•You must get our express permission for late check-out
•This is often impossible because we are frequently booked for same-day turnovers
•We will be as accommodating as possible, but please realize a reservation could be booked even the night before you check-out
1. Be Responsible!
First and foremost, we expect you and your guests to behave like responsible adults, at least when you're in the unit. Treat it like a responsible person would treat their own home: if you spill something or make a mess, clean it up. If something breaks, notify us ASAP so that we can replace it before the next guest arrives.
Please wash all wine glasses by hand, not in dish washer. We have had several glasses broken even when guests were certain they had loaded them correctly. You will be assessed a $10 fee out of your security deposit for any wine glasses you break.
Don’t move furniture, without express permission. This rule applies to anything heavy enough that one person can’t EASILY lift over their own head. We have had guests drag items across the apartment, which has resulted in damage to the floor—this is what we want to avoid. If you want to reposition a coffee table, side table, footrest, etc., just be careful and put it back before you leave.
2. Be Respectful!
Respect your neighbors--you're sharing a building with families who have kids and people who need to sleep at reasonable hours--so keep the noise level reasonable. If one of the neighbors has to come knock on the door, they will undoubtedly call me, too. Please try to make sure I don't get any late-night phone calls from upset neighbors.
Want to have a dinner party with a few close friends? Great, we're happy to make that happen. Want to throw a keg party with 15 or 20 of your "closest" friends? Find another venue!
3. Don't Smoke!
Unfortunately, even one cigarette can leave a lingering smell for days. We often have the next guest moving in hours after you leave, and none of them particularly want to find themselves in a smokey room. If you or your guest smoke indoors, we will take your deposit! Please don't make us take your deposit!
We love animals, we have both a cat and some dogs. Just like you, we would always rather travel with our pets than leave them at a kennel or home alone. So, we support you bringing a pet with you, but if you do we expect you to leave no trace, indoor or out. If they make a mess, including immediately outside the building, please pick it up (see: rule 1). Try to keep them off the sofa, especially if you have a cat with claws.
5. Heat / Air Conditioning
We have the thermostat set at what we think is a very reasonable level. Because the unit is at the ground floor, it often doesn't need AC except on the hottest days. That said, we also understand that some people want it to be nice and chilly! We are happy to accommodate this, but in order to keep costs down for everyone, we do ask for $10/day if you want the freedom to run the AC as much as you like at any temperature you like. Just let us know at check-in and we can give you the password for the thermostat that will allow you to change the temperature outside of the normal range.
Please, please, please! Let us know what we can do to improve the experience and also (hopefully) what you particularly liked about your stay.

I was born and raised on the north side of Chicago. My wife is from Manhattan by way of Rochester and Cleveland. We live with our son in Logan Square.
She's an academic and I am an entrepreneur and real estate investor. We both love design, art and photography.
We keep telling ourselves that we're going to start cooking more, but constantly find ourselves out exploring new restaurants and revisiting neighborhood favorites.
As hosts, we pride ourselves on being responsive, providing a clean, friendly environment, and sharing enough local knowledge to help you experience the city not only as a tourist, but also like a local.
