I travel for work, and occasionally I have a day or so of standby that gives me a chance to explore the local area. Usually this happens in a place I don't want to be, and I'm wishing I was home...and when I'm in a new exciting place it can feel like a cruel joke, because by the time I find out which places are worth checking out, I have to get to the airport. This time my workmate and I had 22 hours to check out Bozeman, and it turned out to be one of the best days on the road ever. I quickly found Rouse House in a nice quiet neighborhood with easy parking, just a few minutes from downtown and Montana State University. The house is cozy, with a great living room and kitchen, and a few decks in the private back yard. Their dog Kai is super friendly--and respectful of personal space too. So needless to stay I was relieved, and I expected to take an hour or two to settle in and get online to find out where to go to get out and stretch my legs. Joanne nipped that in the bud and quickly set me on the right path. She's clearly a very active outdoor enthusiast--she knew all the local spots to climb, hike, mountain bike, etc. She sent us out to the Madison river and we spent the afternoon on inner tubes, enjoying perfect water and the beautiful rock formations. In the evening she gave us great tips on where to eat and where to shoot pool. The next morning we woke up to great coffee from their espresso machine, and Joanne gave us the perfect beta for a great hike past incredible water falls in Hyalite Canyon. Because she knew the trail so well, we were able to pack in a perfect length excursion, and make it to the airport for our 1:30pm flight, with time to spare. I recommend Rouse House highly to climbers, hikers, runners, etc. You will be with your people, and will get just the beta you need to maximize your experience in Bozeman. I did not meet Trevor (apparently he travels for work even more than I do) but apparently he highlines with the best of them, and I hope to meet him next time I come through town. I'm very thankful these great folks are sharing their home!

"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?" -Mary OliveI plan to continue embracing life's many adventures. I love all outdoor and natural pursuits, while somehow still loving technology. I enjoy being active and helping others. I feel incredibly fortunate and humbled by my current training, which will lead to my becoming a massage therapist as well as allowing for limitless personal growth. I feel confident that my life experience thus far and in the future will greatly contribute to my ability to be an effective therapist.
