So you’re planning a trip to Tokyo and you’re looking for a beautiful, comfortable, quite, centrally located, traditional place to stay with hosts that offer great interactions, communication and a truly genuine experience? Well then simply look no further! You have found literally the perfect Airbnb in Tokyo, located in Kagurazaka (very centrally located to the Edo Palace). This manicured and quite neighborhood is a true gem within Tokyo and offers a great place to rest after a long exciting day exploring all that Tokyo has to offer. It is one stop from Lidabashi which has four out of the twelve Tokyo Subway lines which makes traveling throughout Tokyo a piece of cake. I was very nervous about using the Tokyo Subway before traveling to Japan but Yoshi and Isao helped us learn how to operate the Subway. Within two days I felt like an experienced traveler throughout Tokyo and was able to read the map and get from point A to B without getting lost. The upstairs living room has great amount of space to talk, drink and watch a show before falling asleep each night. The two beds were very comfortable and were spread over a traditional tatami platform. The bathrooms on each floor were very comfortable and clean and the shower was as well. Upon entering Kagurazaka Yoshi met us at the train station and showed us around town, pointing out the Kombinis (24 hour convenient stores), restaurants, subway stations, and different stores. She also prepared chilled tea and a little repass upon entering the house. We felt immediately comfortable and pleased with the interactions between Yoshi and Isao. Airbnb can produce great interactions but rarely do you find people who can offer you this level of experience and a very comfortable living space. Kagurazaka offers a few cafes and many restaurants including an amazing Ramen shop that Yoshi suggested we try and an Okonomiyaki restaurant, which is a Kansai dish, that every foreigner in this country should try. Yoshi prepared a traditional Japanese breakfast one morning served with tea which was absolutely delicious and gave us the luxury of trying a traditional meal cooked by our wonderful hosts. Yoshi and Isao also offered to clean our laundry two days throughout our stay which was yet another added bonus that made our stay not only comfortable but without any worrying. We truly felt pampered, no hotel or third party living arrangement can offer you this feeling or sentiment. Whenever we had a question, like whether we need to use a converter to plug in our appliances, Isao and Yoshi were very quick to respond and help us. During our stay, we were also able to have conversations regarding the economy, politics, culture and traditions of Japan that expanded our knowledge of Japan and gave us a better point of view and more objectivity overall about Japan. When it was time to leave Isao and Yoshi we were very depressed and sad since our stay was so amazing...

Isao & Yoshi are the best airbnb hosts ever and we had an amazing time staying in their place. There were 2 of us staying here for a few days and we were very comfortable upstairs, which is the private area. The place was nicely updated and had everything we needed. It's a short walk to the subway station making it easy to get around Tokyo, even for foreigners. Yoshi gave us a lot of great recommendations around the city and even cooked us a delicious traditional Japanese breakfast one morning. Couldn't have asked for a better experience here!

Yoshi and Isao made our stay in Tokyo very enjoyable. Yoshi gave us great tips and Isao helped us navigate the city and make it to our early flight on time by giving spot on directions. We will definitely stay with them again if we are in Tokyo!

Isao and yoshi go above and beyond to provide a special visit. You are greeted with fresh tea and food once you arrive. The place is very neat, clean, and well kept and a thorough orientation is provided. Can't think of a better airbnb experience

The pictures truly do not do this place justice. Isao & Yoshi's place is amazing -- it's spacious and wonderfully located in the Kagurazaka neighborhood, just a few minutes away by train from Shinjuku. The shikibuton (futon) bed is extremely comfortable, and the room is well-appointed and simple. Like most places in Tokyo, the house was small, but it doesn't feel small at all. Although we didn't meet Isao, we did get to meet his lovely wife Yoshi, who is an absolutely wonderful host. She had many great recommendations -- from where to go eat, to the nearest sento (public bath), and places to visit both nearby and in Shinjuku. She also graciously made us a fantastic Japanese breakfast on our first morning, and surprised us with treats when we arrived and when we left. ^_^ My husband and I really enjoyed staying at Isao & Yoshi's place and would happily do so again in the future.

Isao-san and Yoshi-san are beautiful people and incredible hosts! Yoshi-san was kind enough to meet us at the station and walk us to their house. They welcomed us into their home with warmth and fine cooking! The house was very clean and comfortable, and Yoshi-san was helpful in sharing her knowledge of the local area. We loved the location in Kagurazaka, where we could easily walk to a number of restaurants and the nearby Tozai subway line. Yet the neighborhood was peaceful and afforded us many quiet nights of sleep. Highly recommended!
