El lugar

We love the open space joining our modern kitchen to the living space. The large windows and garden doors to the patio create the sense that the lush back garden is a part of the home.

We have spent 8 days in this wonderful house within walking distance to both the great Louisiana Museum and a cute little beach. Brianna is a great host and provided lots of information beforehand - it felt just like coming home to friends when we arrived. The house is very bright with three cute bedrooms and we just loved the open kitchen area where you can chat, sit or cook together. We've spent our holiday time there with three little kids and they enjoyed the garden very much (when not playing one of the many board games at the dining table). Humlebaek is around 30 to 40 minutes away from Copenhagen (you can just hop on the train!), you can go to Helsingor and learn about Hamlet's castle, visit one of many small cute towns along the coast or just drive the whole way up to Gilleleje, Rageleje or Tisvildeleje Beach. We've been watching people sailing and kayaking a lot, never tried by ourselves though. We've come to love the area - is so quiet and there's this wonderful quality of light. Did not miss the big-city-vibes of Copenhagen at all. And if there's spare time and you've been to the beach just too often: go visit Louisiana a second or a third time (and even bring your kids to their kids area). It always pays off.

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids (14 ,12) really enjoyed our stay at Brianna's home for 12 days in July. From the initial contact, communication with Brianna was friendly and efficient. Although she and her family were abroad ,and we did not meet them, her friendly neighbours were on hand to welcome us and offer assistance. Thanks very much to Glen and Helena. Brianna's home was as described and it was comfortable for us , there were no tricky operational issues and we felt at home there. The back garden was also a nice place to relax, barbecue, and for the kids to play.By request she had provided 4 bikes for us to use and we found this particularly useful and enjoyable during our stay. The house is situated in a quiet street with safe driveway/on- street parking. Humlebaek was more than a pleasant surprise. It is a lovely area with lots of eye-catching traditional homes, small marina, small accessable beaches, walking and cycling paths. There are a number of supermarkets etc nearby ,enough to cater for your needs. The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art is nearby and it's an easy 7km cycle to Helsingor ,home of Hamlet's castle ,and a nice town to stroll around. We did have our car and, as such, we were easily able to explore other areas including Roskilde. Its Viking Museum is worth a visit. However, even without a car, public transport services in this area are easy and excellent. We used the train to visit Copenhagen and it's a quick, and frequent service. Should you be travelling from the airport ,as I had to do during our stay, it's a straightforward journey to Humlebaek. The train station is a relatively short walk from Brianna's home and you'll have no problems with that unless you have mobility problems, luggage overload, or very bad weather. All in all, if we were to visit this area of Denmark again we'd be delighted to stay at Brianna's home if available.......and I'm sure you will be too.

I recharge while racing a sailboat, singing classical music, or experiencing the serenity of a forest. I love to experience the local pulse of the places I visit whether a big city or small village. My husband (Danish) & I (American) enjoy the daily life in our seaside town along with our two school children. We look forward to experiences around the globe!
