Knowing that my 5:00 a.m. arrival was inappropriate for a non-hotel check-in, I allowed the host to set the meeting time and agreed to whatever he wanted. I arrived on time and sent a message after waiting 15 min. He was an hour away and, thus, an hour late. The washer/dryer was broken -- had I known this, I would have had my company pay for laundry or used facilities available to me at the meetup I attended. The host offered to do my laundry; this wasn't an option for me. There were mystery brown smears (chocolate?) on the comforter, but otherwise the bed was clean. Toilet paper ran out on the fifth day, so I used the emergency roll I carry in my luggage. Walls are a bit thin, and the location is also at a main intersection that generates constant traffic noise -- music, TV and/or AC can drown this out if the windows are closed. I put a sheet over the leather couch because it's starting to split, either from age or previous airbnb'ers not taking care of it. The apartment itself is nice, well decorated and well equipped for a pleasant stay, the beach and for cooking. There's also an EU-US converter if you need it. Manfredi also tolerated me using his number to order takeout the first two days 'til I sorted out my U.S. cell, which I appreciated. I've lived in Miami before and wasn't a tourist, so being close to popular sights and the beach inconsequential.
