We are Americans living in Germany and we had such a memorable, fantastic vacation at Aad’s house. I have 4 kids between the ages of 2 and 7 and the house perfectly suited our needs. The kitchen is fully stocked, so we were able to eat our meals there. There were 3 huge bedrooms and a full bath upstairs and a kitchen, dining room and living room with a half bath downstairs. There was enough room in the entry way to put our stroller and sand toys and things like that. The garden in the back was completely enclosed so we could leave our kids outside to play and not worry about them. The house itself was beautiful. It was over 100 years old but the kitchen and baths were completely modern and as I said, fully stocked, even with extra toilet paper, hand soap and things like that so we didn’t have to buy them at the store. Noordwijk aan Zee is a wonderful little beachside village and completely safe for children. The Dutch people were super friendly towards us and our children and seem to be so content with life. There were grocery stores, shops and restaurants all within walking distance, and the beach was about 25 minutes by foot. We had the option to rent bikes, which would have been perfect, but because my kids were young, I didn’t feel comfortable doing that…so maybe in a few more years! The stairs were steep, so if you have younger children, either bring a baby gate, or ask Aad for one. Aad was super! We actually arrived an hour before we were scheduled to check in and he was already there to let us in! He was also really flexible with the checkout time. He was available at any time if we needed him and would text us throughout our stay to make sure everything was fine. We had fantastic weather, so we spent some time every day at the beach and we managed to go to a cheese farm in Amstelveen and also took the train from Sassenheim train station into the Amsterdam Central Station for a morning, which was super easy. I highly recommend Aad’s place to anyone!
