House rules are simple: Check-in is from 3PM-9PM unless special arrangements have been made with the host. Check-out is 10AM. Smoking is only allowed outside. Treat the house as you would hope a guest in your house would, and leave it as clean as you would expect your guests to leave your home. Dogs are welcome, but please make sure they are exercised enough. Parking is provided for 2 cars in the driveway, not on the street. I will be here to greet you and give you the keys to the house. I would appreciate knowing your approximate arrival time. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
I love being retired after working in the travel industry for more than 45 years. My last position was as VP of a major commercial travel company and now I am finally my own boss! I bought this big old, beat up 110 year old house in Rockland in 2011 and spent two years doing the renovation myself. When I finished, the house was beautiful again and happy. It's a big old house- too big for just me really, but I love her. So I decided to share it, at least for a few months a year. I love doing vacation rentals because I meet so many interesting people. Some have even become 'friends from away' as we say here in Maine. Summer rentals keep me young because I'm always busy (that's the secret of staying young, by the way) and it satisfies my need to take care of someone, not to mention paying the taxes! Come see me in my beautiful Maine.
