Otros aspectos destacables

The property is accessed by a narrow, unimproved mountain road. You may need to back up in order to pass. There are two creek crossings (actually driving through the water) and a step, gravel drive with a sharp hair pin turn. 4WD or AWD vehicles are recommended for inclement weather such as snow or ice. The property can be accessed with a 2WD vehicle under most conditions; however, the driver should be comfortable with driving on mountain roads.

The hot tub is wood fired. It provides a unique soaking experience that requires time, effort, patience and attention to detail in order to prepare and enjoy.

My wife and I love this place. We spent a week here for our honeymoon and just got back from a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. It's the perfect place to get away. Cell phones go into drawers and we just enjoy cooking/reading/sitting around a campfire/playing yard games. The scenery is incredible. The air is clean and crisp. You just hear nature. Yet you still have the amenities of a great kitchen/bathroom/outdoor shower/plenty of provided firewood, and the ability to make a short trip into town if need be (the drive is beautiful too). Ed & Chrissy have a great setup - with all the amenities you'll need to have a wonderful stay. They were also very helpful and quick to respond in answering any questions we had throughout the process. We're already looking towards a trip back next fall...

Slice of heaven in the mountains. The highlight of each day was the preparation of the daily tub/ bath!

My wife and I are expecting our first child and were looking for one last quiet get away before the baby comes, and couldn't have chosen a better place than the retreat at Miller's Cove. The property is a perfect distance off the beaten path, leaving us only a short drive to Asheville, Black Mountain, and Lake Lure/Chimney Rock. The cabin is the perfect size (cozy), clean, and very comfortable. And the outdoor shower is life changing! We were able to feel at home within moments of our arrival and were just overcome with a sense of peace our entire stay. While we may not be able to vacation again for a while as our family grows, we will definitely yearn for the return trip. We couldn't recommend this retreat more.

Great place!!! My husband and I were looking for a cozy place in the middle of nowhere and this was perfect! Check in was easy, we were given great directions and clear instructions. The hot tub was an amazing plus! Definitely recommend and plan on staying again sometime.

My wife and two children (5 years and 6 months) spent 5 nights at Ed and Chrissy's place and it was probably the best, to date, our our Airbnb experiences. The property itself exceeded expectations in terms of its condition, ambiance, and surrounding environment. My one minor source of disappointment with previous Airbnb rentals has been that the pictures posted online are often so well done that there's a bit of a letdown when you arrive (something like the difference between the professional photos I've had taken of my family vs. how we actually look on any given day). This wasn't the case with Ed and Chrissy's place - if anything the pictures posted online don't do it justice. The interior of the house was in good condition and adequately appointed for a family of two adults and two small children. In particular we prepared and ate many of our meals in and found the kitchen had everything we needed for food preparation. The outside of the house was beautiful. It is surrounded by woods but there is a large patio and an open green space with a fire pit that provided more than enough room for our 5 year son to run around safely within our view. The immediate "neighborhood" included a gravel road that made for good walks that weren't very strenuous but had enough interesting features (stream crossings, views off the mountain) that our son enjoyed them. The location of the rental was also excellent. We didn't end up making it into Asheville because there was so much to do in terms of hiking and restaurants closer by. I'd particularly recommend the the Catawba Falls hike (you can find it on Yelp) for those with children and the Straightaway Cafe just down the road for drinks/meals, which turned out to be very family friendly. I would highlight that there is a lot of wildlife on the mountain where the property is located. We didn't see anything on the property itself but I did see a black bear when running on the gravel road further up the mountain. I'd recommend that anyone renting this property familiarize themselves with the basics of what to do when coming across a bear and not let children roam too far away. Ed and Chrissy were very responsive to all communications and we thought that the rental was a very good value. I'd highly recommend this property to couples looking for a getaway or for families with young children. I expect that we'll rent here again.

The perfect place to get away from it all. The property is small and very secluded, surrounded by mountains and thick forest. You feel so cozy and peaceful in the house and sitting on the porch. There's also an awesome (and easy-to-use) outdoor wood-fired hot tub and a fire pit, with wood provided. My friend, who came with me, brought her dog that loved exploring and spending time outside. The drive is kind of rough, in that you need to cross two small streams and ascend a really steep dirt path. You just need to - as Ed & Chrissy tell you - drive "aggressively." I made it with no issues in my 2010 Nissan Vera. If you're looking for a quiet place to be in nature, this is perfect. Ed & Chrissy were also very hands off, which we appreciated. We were looking for the least host interaction, as my friend and I just wanted the most privacy and autonomy possible.

We love to get outdoors and enjoy many activities such as biking, paddle boarding, and hiking. We also love to travel and appreciate good food and art. Our teenage daughter travels with us as well and often helps research our Air B&B places.
