I've been a counsellor for longer than I care to remember, working in the NHS in the UK, and also a trainer and meditation teacher. We (my wife Janet and myself) came to France in 2007 and this part in particular, because I have always felt a romantic pull to the Pyrenees, and also because, while I was looking for a shack halfway up a mountain, I stumbled upon this place where we now live. Not a shack and in the foothills, but it fitted a vision I had of the ideal place to do therapy on a residential basis. So here we are and that's what we do.
Along the way, Janet runs an English conversation group in the nearby town and finds new culinary delights for our guests and I walk in the mountains, teach meditation and write... books and online articles, mostly to do with therapy or meditation or philosophy. (If you want to look them up - "Stillness in Mind" and "Themed Meditations... along the quiet path" are on Amazon and "Pathways" is on the way.)
We're always delighted to welcome people to our secluded corner of Ariège and to 'le Sentier Tranquille' (the quiet path), and we look to help our guests to get the most out of their stay in this glorious setting.
