The Guest House at LAAF is part of a second career for me. My first career was in medicine starting out as a "candy striper" (for those that remember) then a Critical Care Nurse and later Educator and eventually to a Nurse Practitioner in a busy health center for the underserved in our community. We bought a 160 acre farm in 2002 and started raising alpacas in 2005. I now manage the 120+ alpacas and farm and offer The Guest House for visitors to rent. None of which I consider work! We are a commercial alpaca farm with both a primary product (alpaca fiber) and a secondary product (alpaca meat) as well as alpaca sales to either breeding farms or fiber farms. Every day brings a new learning experience!
