Nestled in the woods on a one acre lot, our spacious 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home is a half mile from Beaver Lake, five to ten minute drive to downtown Asheville, and one mile to I26. Two open air porches, luxury linens, and large open floor plan. Incredible family retreat! Fresh baked sourdough bread available (request when you book). (Given Asheville zoning laws, we can only rent out 2 bedrooms, which is the price listed. In short, you get the third bedroom for free.)

El lugar

Come enjoy this quiet sanctuary conveniently located in an upscale neighborhood in North Asheville near Beaver Lake. Nestled on a heavily wooded one acre lot, this three bedroom home boasts two open air porches, vaulted ceilings, high end kitchen finishings, luxury linens, antique and hand-made furniture, two queen size beds, one double bed, down-filled leather couch, a reading room, and a large dining room table seating for ten. You should see the beauty from either porch of the leaves in the fall!

The home is 2.5 miles from downtown, less than half a mile to I26 (easy drive to Biltmore, West Asheville, and hiking destinations), and a ten minute walk to Beaver Lake (no view of the lake from the house).

This is our home, so the kitchen is fully stocked with all our favorite things including quality spices, everyday condiments, pots and pans, premium glassware, and Fiesta dinnerware. We have lights hanging in the trees, a hammock, and plenty of indoor and outdoor games (suitable for kids and adults).

We ask that guests respect our space as they would their own. No parties, excessive alcohol, or drugs. Since we live here, the bureau drawers and closets include our things. We make space in the closets for guests to hang clothes, and if you need drawer space let us know. Absolutely no smoking (we live in the woods; guests can smoke in front of our home on the road if necessary but you should trash you butts in the outdoor garbage cans. The same rules apply for electronic cigarettes. Should a renter smoke in the home, a fee of $500 will be charged to the credit card used to reserve the property.)

We have parking for two vehicles and sleeping (in beds) for six guests.

As your hosts, we can make recommendations for fun events happening during your stay including free music, wine tastings, plays and performances, hikes close by, among other things. You let us know what Asheville experience you want, and we'll make you a list of the "must see" and "must do" moments. LGBTQ+ friendly space.

Please note: Wi-Fi, TV with DVD player, Apple TV, and movies are available but there is no cable.

Disponible para huéspedes

Guests will have their own off street parking , an outdoor area with hammock, use of fast wifi, and TV with BluRay DVD (no cable but plenty of DVDs). Washer and dryer are available for guest use.

Amanda's place was great! Perfect balance of quiet seclusion while still being within a quick drive of just about anything you could possibly want to do in Asheville. The house is even more spacious than the photos give it credit for (even with six people, like we had), and quite charming. We'd definitely stay here again!

Very comfortable, clean and easy access. Amanda has information in the house on Asheville restaurants, art district and Blue Ridge Pkwy hikes. I fould an excellent restaurant in Weaverville, 16 min drive, the Glass Onion - scallops are delicious

We stayed in Amanda and Andy's private family home. Didn't care for the feel of plastic mattress covers, but understand probably typical for and with young children. The distances to downtown are about 10-15 minutes. Private location.

Respuesta de Amanda:
Teryl, All of our mattresses are new in the last three years, and we have them all zipped into CLOTH mattress covers. These are not plastic covers, and they are designed to be a fortress blocking out bed bugs that guests might inadvertently bring into our home. Additionally, the covers are intended to protect our family and guests from any bodily fluids that might soak through sheets. People come here to vacation and relax, and we want them to enjoy their time fully. I'm sorry that, according to your private feedback, you didn't read our ad thoroughly enough to see that this is our family home with our clothes in the closet and in the bureau drawers. We are explicit about this in our ad because, yes, we are a family that lives here. We strive to get the house in hotel quality with every surface clean and sheets crisp; I cleaned our house in advance of your arrival, so I know that all the details were attended to, including fresh flowers in the house. I'm sorry that you felt uncomfortable surrounded by our family things. This isn't just a business for us, it is a family income that helps us pay our mortgage. I'm surprised that you haven't before encountered airbnb homes that are family homes and not just rental properties. We thank you for being kind with our home, and we are sorry that we didn't meet your expectations. A three star rating is the LOWEST we've EVER received in the past two years of doing this. It is a bit heart breaking, actually, because our house was clean and just as described in our ad. And, especially knowing the extreme lengths my husband and I went to so that you could check in two hours early, your rating feels unfair.

We loved this place! Plenty of room, vibrant, and a well balanced blend of modern and rustic. The deck was a lovely retreat for morning coffee and a book, and living room was super comfy to watch movies in, or play games at night. The kitchen was stocked with all the little extras, so if you forgot pancake mix, Amanda was there to save the day with a box of bisquick already tucked in the cabinet. The only thing we didn't have was much room in the dressers to put our clothes away, but we made out fine and just used our luggage. It was nice to have good privacy, but only be 8 minutes from town. Beaver lake, down the street, provides a lovely trail and views for recreation, as well as a bird sanctuary. There was a close by grocery store, pharmacy and bus route. The place has it all; not to mention good acoustics for guitar playing in the living room . Ultimately, our needs and expectations were satisfied.

Our family really enjoyed staying here at Amanda's place. We were bringing our daughter from California to move into college in North Carolina at UNC Asheville and it was a perfect location to have a peaceful night with our family among the beautiful trees as we enjoyed the deck outdoors before we had to take her to move in the next day. The house was very comfortable and it was a great location for us to travel back and forth to the college. The peacefulness of the neighborhood was just what our family needed. Loved listening to the storms roll in off the side deck. Loved walking into the house being treated by fresh flowers and loved reading about other guests visits in the guest log and what places they enjoyed while visiting Asheville. We were able to venture out and site see with easy access to freeway not far down the road. Such a beautiful place and we can't wait to return. Thank you!

Great location for pretty much anything.. right off I26, 10 min to downtown, 5 min to French Broad River, 30 min to the Blue Ridge Parkway and easy access to pretty much everything the area has to offer. Super quiet, super-Asheville neighborhood - we loved it. The house has everything you need, so you can worry about what you're going to do around town instead of worrying about everyday living problems. Check out Beaver Lake and the bird sanctuary. Enjoy the deck and the nature around you. Great place, great price.

Before my husband and I married, we dreamed up Asheville as a perfect home: hiking, laid back people, cooler temperatures with endless sun, thriving art scene, incredible local food movement and, of course, beer culture. In 2011, life dealt us the incredible gift of a professor position at UNC Asheville; we packed our family and drove from Tucson, AZ to these mountains. We are a young family who enjoys playing outdoors, cooking big meals, reading, drawing, writing, and telling stories. We remain in love with all that this region has to offer, and we pride ourselves for knowing about the great entertainment options happening around town (many of which are free). We look forward to hosting you in Asheville soon.
