Our charming 1BR garden apt in Park Slope is on a tree-lined block and features exposed brick, hardwood floors, tin ceilings and a backyard patio. Near subways, shops, dining and Prospect Park, you'll love this base for exploring Brooklyn and beyond.

El lugar

Our lovely 680 sq. ft. garden apartment is on the 1st floor of a 3 story Federal brick attached townhouse built in 1899. The bedroom features a four poster queen size bed, oak dresser and desk, as well as French doors that open out onto the patio and backyard. The kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, microwave, pans and utensils (the kitchen is not super modern or swank, but completely functional). A small dining nook is adjacent to the kitchen (or better yet, dine on the patio!) Original tin ceiling, wood floors and exposed brick grace the living area, along with a decorative (nonworking) fireplace/mantel. Flat screen TV, cable, and gaming system are also in the living area for entertainment. The apartment is ideal for two adults - three adults is cozy, but fine. Two adults and a child is comfortable. A queen size Aerobed-type inflatable is available on request.

Disponible para huéspedes

Guests have a private entrance to the apartment and a private entrance to the patio and backyard. The backyard is shared with our family, but we can often honor requests for exclusive use.

Atención a los huéspedes

Someone is at home, or nearby, almost every day and evening, and we are available to assist you in whatever way we can, while offering as much privacy as you require. We have lived in the area for over 15 years and can give you advice should you want or need it.

Otros aspectos destacables

We have a very sweet dog, a Golden Doodle named Charlie. You may see him in the upstairs window, or hear him (and us) moving around upstairs, but noise from upstairs will be minimal. Charlie doesn't shed (no allergy concerns) and only barks occasionally and briefly, usually when someone approaches the house. John is a business owner in the neighborhood, so he is in the house frequently and just blocks away when he's not. Becky works in Manhattan for the standard M-F, 8-6 workday. We have three teen-age sons who are usually away when we rent, but might sometimes be around the house. All three are mindful of our guests, polite and helpful.

Becky helped us feel right at home as she greeted us upon our arrival. A quick review of our accommodations was also greatly appreciated. Location was nice and available to all areas of interest to us in Park Slope. We will certainly inquire about its availability for our next visit.

We absolutely loved our stay with Becky and John. Truly got the New York feel staying in their apartment. Their neighborhood is beautiful. So many stores and restaurants close by. Park Slope is just an awesome area to stay. Thank you Becky and John for hosting us.

One of the most perfect Airbnb stays we ever had! The apt is cosy, comfortable, and as quiet as a cottage in the countryside. The backyard is a gem. On top of being a little oasis away from the hectic NY pace, the hosts are super nice and helpful. John was flexible and made every arrangment to accomodate our needs. I definitely recommend this place!

Becky and John were very welcoming and responsive. We had a great extended stay. Their apartment is lovely and had everything we needed: sitting in the backyard was wonderful. Also, our visit to Rose Water is always one of the highlights of our trips to Park Slope.

John and Becky’s place was an ideal home base for our NYC trip. We were able to easily navigate public transport around Brooklyn and into Manhattan using both buses and trains. Everything in the apartment was as described and as pictured. John replied immediately to logistical questions, and kindly arranged for us to drop off our bags early in the day, enabling an additional afternoon of Manhattan sightseeing. We are selective Airbnb users, and felt particularly comfortable that the hosts are established neighborhood business owners and present on the property. (Our local friends were impressed when we mentioned the name of their restaurant!) The garden apartment has a separate, gated entrance & felt very secure and quiet. We loved being in a residential area of Park Slope. The neighborhood is pedestrian friendly (including in the evenings) & we did not notice any significant street noise. We heard only minimal noise from above (just footsteps) and, as promised, their friendly dog, Charlie, barked briefly every time we entered the courtyard. We enjoyed our stay and will recommend this listing to friends & family traveling to Brooklyn!

Respuesta de Becky And John:
Thanks so much! We appreciate the reminder about the toaster - I had "borrowed" it prior to your arrival and forgot to move it back. Taking that and a baking sheet to the kitchen now! I'll look into the wifi issue related to the iPad. Not sure why it wouldn't show up on that device. Thanks again - great pleasure to have you with us!

I had a great stay at Becky and Johns in Park Slope. This was my first stay in Brooklyn and I will most certainly return. The apartment was just a few minutes walk from the closest subway station. I truely enjoyed the spacious and quiet apartment. It was well planned and had a nice equipped kitchen for dining at home. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioner cooled the apartment in a few minutes even on the hottest day. The garden were also nice to sit in after a day out. The wifi was fast and worked without any problems. Becky and John were great hosts and were quick to reply when needed. I sincerely recommend a stay at Becky and Johns apartment.

John is a longtime restaurateur and owns a successful place here in Park Slope. In addition to his passions for food, wine, hospitality, and soccer, he enjoys being a youth sports volunteer as a coach, referee and administrator. Becky is a publication producer who loves good books, roof gardening, and being a mom to our three teenage sons. We are both Midwesterners who've resided in NYC since the eighties. Our various responsibilities generally keep us close to home these days, but we have traveled far and wide on the planet, and we enjoy learning more about the world through our guests.
