Studio room on the upper level of a wing of the house. Self-catering on B&B model. Access from a shared enclosed courtyard by a traditional external stone staircase to a private balcony overlooking the countryside down to the sea. Utility room below that also serves as the owner's workroom may be available for its larger kitchen. Help may be available with supplies, provisions and equipment. Garden opposite is shared space. Access to the main house & its facilities only at owners discretion.
The studio room "Savvas" was added to the winery in 1937 and despite the modernisation of the house and the installation of new facilities it retains its character with the incorporation of contemporary fittings. There is an original planked pine ceiling and soft marble floor. It is a standard Cypriot room of 10ft x 30ft and opens onto a balcony of a similar size under a slightly narrower canopy. It faces East and so receives the early morning sun but the double glazed louvred window let you lie in if you wish. The en-suite shower and toilet are unashamedly modern as is the kitchenette which is adequate for preparing cold breakfasts and meals.

Guests will have sole use of the balcony and various countertop cooking equipment may be provided. The yard (Avli) has a gas barbecue and an electric hotplate and tables and chairs will usually be available there. The detached garden is reached across a quiet lane (cul de sac to just two other family houses) It is laid out as various spaces to be used to find or avoid the sun according to need. A reclaimed "stable" with a tiled floor offers complete shelter and a convenient sitting / eating area. The Southern wall is in shade most of the day and remains welcomingly "cold". A charcoal barbecue and a gas cooker can be made available and a woodburner stove can provide a late evening focal point.

The owner will usually be on site and will share experiences and knowledge about the history and geology of the island. The avli (yard) and the garden are common shared spaces. But be aware that the owner may be absent for some of your stay.

THE DARK WINTER MONTHS OF JANUARY AND FEBRUARY ARE BLOCKED BY DEFAULT DUE TO THE UNSUITABILITY AS A LOUNGE DURING THE CURRENT COLD AND WET WEATHER. You may appeal against this if you have particular interest and can deal with this. Answering some previous comments about the description - the fireplace in the lounge is not functional - in fact the lounge is not normally heated (in Winter); the wi-fi modem is centrally placed and does not readily pass the thick stone walls and is not therefore available throughout the space and shouldn't be relied upon for streaming.
It is a no smoking house. Smoking is allowed in principle in outside areas but not to the inconvenience of other people on site. The garden and the balcony are probably OK; the yard only if alone.
