The stay at Casa Alegre is one of a kind. Ian had fantastic communication. Aside from easy booking, he informed us of the pueblo wide party, Dia de las Marinas, offering additional nights that had been blocked. It was a special experience and we felt lucky to be present this time of year. Casa alegre is definitely a climb from the ocean floor but we enjoyed the movement and exercise. Being semi young and semi used to hiking, it was just hard enough to be epically rewarding. Just hard enough to get you winded but not be too tough. We only had a backpack so more luggage than that and it could be overwhelming. It's awesome being in what felt like the canopy of the jungle, very secluded, peaceful, sooo beautiful, but still only a short 5 min walk to the pueblo for groceries at the store or one of a few restaurants. Playa Isabel is also only 5 min walk down the hill. We made margaritas in the blender with fresh fruits, made our own ice with the provided water, cooked our own breakfasts with items from the grocer, made fresh coffee, smoked cigars, snorkeled with the provided masks and apparatus, filled the provided cooler with cold beers to take to the beach. It was simply awesome. Ian's place is super. We had friends staying down on the water in Yelapa, and albeit their air bnb was gorgeous and equally unique, the sound of the ocean was simply loud; not annoyingly loud, just decibly loud. Vico showed us to our spot. Our water taxi was late so I had to ask a random elder if he knew Vico, and he walked me to his house. Vico told us all we needed to know and showed us his phone # and the land line phone if we needed anything. Wifi was strong and worked well enough to stream a movie. The patio umbrella blew over one day and shattered a glass brick in the floor. We felt awful and afraid but Ian was nothing but accommodating and calming. Couldn't recommend this place enough if you are ready to adventure off the beaten tourist path a bit. Most epic places require the extra mile. Do it!

We had a wonderful trip and the house was fantastic. Everything was spot on from the descriptions and photos. In addition Vico was a huge help in getting luggage up to the house and making sure we had everything, on top of that he is a super guy and we really enjoyed learning about the different birds, animals, wood/trees as he was working on another close by property. Ian was fantastic in his communication and the home offers a great place to have privacy, and get the full experience of Yelapa. This was our second trip to Yelapa and we enjoyed this stay even more than the first. Can't wait to be back!

We loved being at Ian's place in Yelapa. Beautiful flowers, amazing view of the bay, wonderful assortment of colorful birds morning and evening. The upstairs deck is especially good for that. We had what we needed in the kitchen to cook as we wished. If you want a place a part from town we highly recommend Ian's place.

We stayed one week and totally loved it! Very private, well kept property with an awesome view. The caretaker Vicco was very nice, helpful and spoke fluent English. We would definitely stay here again.

Treehouse over the bay... Secluded & totally private slice of paradise! Rustic by design but the home has everything we could ask for. Perfect location with proximity to beach & the puebla...

My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights in Yelapa at Casa Alegra! If you're not afraid of a small hike up from the beach and an open-air experience I highly recommend you take a close look at Casa Alega. We are very happy that we did.
