First of all, I am sorry to hear that Sydney had such a bad experience, and I will work to prevent such negative experiences in the future.
I don't normally respond to reviews, but I feel like I'd like to say a few things about this one because I feel as if everything Sydney said is exaggerated on account of her not being happy. This is the review of someone who is upset, and looking for everything and anything to complain about. The house was in the same condition as it was for the others who have left reviews, yet her perception was so different. Seems as most people enjoy their stay here!
As far as the kitchen goes, yes, sometimes there may be a few stray cobwebs in out-of-the-way corners, but it's nothing like she would have you believe. I wipe down & disinfect the counters before every guest. There are a few random grain moths, but it's just a tiny moth, and what was she doing poking through my dry goods anyway?
As far as the bathroom goes, there were not, and never are, urine stains on the toilet. I clean the whole toilet well before each guest. If there WERE urine stains when Sydney used the toilet, perhaps her friends are messy pee-ers (there IS a hard water stain in the toilet bowl that is a results of minerals, not pee, perhaps Sydney was confused?) There WAS some mold at the base of the shower curtain, that is a fair comment; curtain was replaced, once I discovered that.
It's true, the yard is "overgrown". It's on it's way to becoming a food forest. It has trees and vines and shrubs and garden beds and piles of dirt and piles of rocks and sometimes these things encroach a little into the pathways. If you are expecting a nice manicured garden, you will be letdown. The yard is among the many things that makes this place unique.
The parking spot is normally about 15 feet from the front door; when the pile was there, that maybe extended to about 25 feet - seems like a pretty minor inconvenience, but I guess that's what happens when you decide to nitpick?
Sheets/beds are washed and made before each guests. Are they the world's fanciest sheets? No.
I say twice in my listing that my home is imperfect, and that it will not be sparkling clean. If you have high standards in that regard, this place will not meet them. It's still a great place to come stay with your family, or come hang with your friends.
