Amelia's place is very nice with beautiful views! It was just a short walk to South Bank, which was very charming! Everything is fairly accessible; easy to get into the action without the noise of it all. Thanks, Amelia!
I stayed at this place for four weeks. The location and neighborhood of the house are nice. The house itself quite charming (e.g. the porch) and has great potential. Unfortunately, I got the impression that the house has not been well taken care of in recent years. The garden no …
I stayed here due to location to new job. I was not looking for substandard accommodation. To be honest a youth hostel would have been cleaner, secure and more comfortable. The owner lives upstairs with no consideration to noise. Neighbours love to party...all night but I enjoyed…

Phew where to start ..I hope people look at all the other positive reviews and take them in to account when assessing this one. Firstly I do make it clear on all of the profiles that there are three airbnb rooms downstairs and the guests share kitchen, bathroom and lounge facilities. It is not true the other guests were not aware of this, it was discussed at length with them before they arrived. Katie made an automatic booking on airbnb on the day she arrived, so its possible she didn't have a proper read of the profile. Katie also never raised an issue with me that she had not known she was sharing the space. I would have been more than happy for her to find somewhere else. Secondly, as is common in air bnb places the rooms were not separately lockable, however on Katies's request I actually organised a locksmith and got locks put on all of the bedroom doors. Thirdly, i did have the spa off but told all guests just to let me know if they felt like using it and I'd get it heated. (In our hot weather in Brisbane some prefer it left cold). Fourthly, I have pest control done quarterly downstairs and a professional cleaner comes twice a week. From Katie's review it would come across that the place is filthy and bug infested which it simply is not. The heat an humidity in brisbane does mean you will see the odd bug around. My house is an old classic Worker's Cottage Style Queenslander, these are wooden houses and mine was built in 1870. The furniture is old too ..there are quite a few antiques. So while we work hard to keep the place (Website hidden by Airbnb) will not suit everyone. Leaving food out and not allowing the place to air properly by closing the windows all the time will cause odour issues. Katie also kept her room locked and wouldn't let the cleaner enter, the windows were all closed and I suspect weren't opened during her whole visit. This would have been unpleasant in the queensland heat. Our guests tend to be long term so of course they must clean and tidy up after their daily use of the kitchen and bathroom. Finally Katies uses a photograph that looks nothing like her which I found a little strange.

Hello! My name is Amelia, originally from a rural part of NSW I have lived in the inner South Brisbane area since 1997. I love this interesting eclectic inner city suburb and sharing it with airbnb guests. My overseas travel started with a trip to Japan while I was still at …
