Bedroom in an old Victorian era home built in 1905 with queen bed and day bed, so potentially 3 people could be accommodated. Nothing fancy. TEENY, TINY bathroom, used only by you. Microwave, small frig, coffee, tea, bottled water, packaged snacks. The bed is often reported as amazingly comfortable, and people sleep hours more than they would normally sleep. It is a very cozy room with AC in summer and controlled heat in the winter. Welcome to Langley House
The photo is one found during remodeling. Taken circa 1930. The house was built in 1905, and was previously owned by a Jewish couple who were Holocaust survivors. When they died, there were no heirs, so the house was left to the neighbor who had been helpful to them over the years. It sat vacant for years. They gardened extensively, so I am slowly bringing it back to its original spirit.

I am home most of the time although I live in a separate area of the house, except for my bedroom which is upstairs off the same hallway as the guest bedroom. I enjoy my privacy and assume my guests do as well.

Within minutes of Hudson and other areas in the Hudson Valley, including Amtrak. My mailing address/gps address is listed as Hudson. However, I am 8 miles away, in the community of Philmont/Claverack/Mellenville. Five miles from Hawthorne Valley. The map shows the location very accurately. A short commute to Great Barrington MA as well.
Hello! I moved to NY about 6 years ago after spending most of my life in TX. I moved here to be near my son and his family (including 3 grandchildren). I have another son on the west coast who is having a son this summer. Grandchildren on both coasts!
Living in NY has been quite a change for me, but I LOVE it here. After 25 years in church ministry, I retired after 9 years as a high school counselor, and am currently working as a part time United Methodist pastor. I had a B&B in TX, so Airbnb is right up my alley. One of my gifts is hospitality, and I hope you find that to be so when you stay at Langley House! I love gardening, as you will soon see!
My place is not fancy, but it is comfortable, and you are welcome to be my guest!
