Bedroom in an old Victorian era home built in 1905 with queen bed and day bed, so potentially 3 people could be accommodated. Nothing fancy. TEENY, TINY bathroom, used only by you. Microwave, small frig, coffee, tea, bottled water, packaged snacks. The bed is often reported as amazingly comfortable, and people sleep hours more than they would normally sleep. It is a very cozy room with AC in summer and controlled heat in the winter. Welcome to Langley House

El lugar

The photo is one found during remodeling. Taken circa 1930. The house was built in 1905, and was previously owned by a Jewish couple who were Holocaust survivors. When they died, there were no heirs, so the house was left to the neighbor who had been helpful to them over the years. It sat vacant for years. They gardened extensively, so I am slowly bringing it back to its original spirit.

Disponible para huéspedes

Relax in the beautiful parlor or on the wrap around porch. Enjoy the swing overlooking the creek in back.

Atención a los huéspedes

I am home most of the time although I live in a separate area of the house, except for my bedroom which is upstairs off the same hallway as the guest bedroom. I enjoy my privacy and assume my guests do as well.

Otros aspectos destacables

Within minutes of Hudson and other areas in the Hudson Valley, including Amtrak. My mailing address/gps address is listed as Hudson. However, I am 8 miles away, in the community of Philmont/Claverack/Mellenville. Five miles from Hawthorne Valley. The map shows the location very accurately. A short commute to Great Barrington MA as well.

Mary's house is exactly as described. I did not take advantage of the common area, as all I required was a place to sleep, but the room is a tidy little place to get a good night's sleep when you're in the Hudson area. Mary make's the entire process simple, and is very accommodating (so much so that I did not need to ask for anything, and I was given complete privacy. Mary has a dog that yelps a little when you come in, but quiets down immediately. It didn't bother me, but just a heads up in case you have dog issues . . . in which case, I am sorry for you. Dogs are the best.

Lovely home in beautiful Hudson valley. Low key and safe with an incredible waterfall right next door. We would repeat in the future. Thank you Mary!

Very comfy bed. Microwave and tea kettle available. Tiny bathroom. Modest house on Rte 217. Not in any town, but within reach of Hudson. Mary was accommodating to my changing the check in time at the last minute.

Comfy bed, kitchenette, friendly pets, and plenty of privacy at Mary's. You can also sit and relax to the soothing sound of the stream in back of her property with the convenience of still being in town. Hostess is always pleasant and helpful, and prompt in responding to questions one might have. I always enjoy my stay at Mary's.

Mary is a wonderfully kind and thoughtful host, and the accommodations at the Langley house were comfortable and convenient. The bed was very comfortable, and a room off of the bedroom had coffee, tea, water, and soda as well as a fridge and a microwave. I would recommend this spot with Mary to anyone.

Hello! I moved to NY about 6 years ago after spending most of my life in TX. I moved here to be near my son and his family (including 3 grandchildren). I have another son on the west coast who is having a son this summer. Grandchildren on both coasts!
Living in NY has been quite a change for me, but I LOVE it here. After 25 years in church ministry, I retired after 9 years as a high school counselor, and am currently working as a part time United Methodist pastor. I had a B&B in TX, so Airbnb is right up my alley. One of my gifts is hospitality, and I hope you find that to be so when you stay at Langley House! I love gardening, as you will soon see!

My place is not fancy, but it is comfortable, and you are welcome to be my guest!
