Saltwater Creek Farm is everything you would want for a break in the country. Your private room is entirely separate from the main residence. The room is light, airy and uncluttered - with only carefully selected furnishings. The bed is luxurious and kingsize with crisp white 100% cotton sheets. The bathroom is fresh, simple and stylish with organic hair and body wash and hair dryer supplied.

Wake up to a chorus of birdsong from the trees along the creek and the 80 yearr old mango tree outside your window. Make yourself a cup of tea or locally grown organic coffee, supplied in the room. Enjoy a cup on your deck - or take it to one of the benches scattered in the garden. Say hello to our heritage chickens as you walk past their very cute coop and sit on the split camphor log overlooking the creek or the lotus-filled pond. The property is a sanctuary for many species of birds and water fowl - over a hundred recorded here and around ten species breeding on the property - many of which you will see all day.

For breakfast you may want to walk to 'Punch and Daisy' cafe, Rock and Roll, or 'Scratch Patisserie' all with excellent coffee and food and croissants as good as Sydney or Paris! And all just a 5 min walk from your room.

Or take a 10 min drive to Brunswick Heads beach for an early morning walk/swim and breakfast at one of the many fabulous cafes there. Alternatively you could venture to Byron Bay and walk to the Lighthouse and spot whales (as well as dolphins, turtles, rays) as they migrate past the eastern most tip of Australia.

After a day of exploring the surrounding hinterland make your way home and have a quiet drink in the garden and then choose from one of several restaurants in 'Mullum' for dinner. All are within walking distance.

Of course you might prefer to simply while away the day lying on the lawn under a tree, pondering at the pond, or reading and slumbering in the crisp white comfort of your room...

This is a lovely place to stay, a perfect location to enjoy both rural serenity and local cafes and restaurants. The property is a haven for wildlife, and the accommodation is cosy with high quality bed and linen. I was visiting Mullum for work, but hope to return with a good book to savour the beautiful location. Thanks so much Shaz :) x

Great location - just a short walk into the main part of Mullumbimby. Shaz is a great host and happy to help. The room/ensuite is nice, clean and rustic/modern, and lovely country ambience as set in the garden. Recommended :)))

We had a wonderful short stay in Mullumbimby! We loved the room - clean, simple and beautifully decorated with gorgeous old windows that let lots of light in. It was particularly special having a morning coffee under the 80 year old mango tree. Great location on a little piece of land tucked away off a residential street. Really quick walk into town and we loved trying out Shaz's cafe suggestions. Mullumbimby is the perfect little town to explore the greater Byron area and we loved the relaxed and alternative vibe. Thank you Shaz for having us stay (especially at short notice) and for being accommodating but at the same time letting us be. Would love to return!

I am an artist, yoga teacher and gardener. I started life in Africa and gave up the hurly burly of Sydney 3 years ago. I love living in 'Mullum' with my artist/surfer husband. We have 3 acres of creek-fronted garden. I start my days teaching a yoga class in the village and then ride my bicycle home for breakfast of fresh eggs from our hens. We have a beautiful painting studio where my husband spends most of his days painting for upcoming exhibitions. I spend hours in the garden most days but if there is no planting, weeding or mowing to do then I will join him in the studio and paint.
