Jeremy was an excellent host! My friend and I had the best time. Jeremy did not stay there while we were there, but he was there when we arrived, and gave us a whole list of suggested places to try out. He has a very warm and welcoming personality. Since it was our first time in NYC, he showed us a map of the city and subway routes of how to get places. We forgot to print our tickets before the trip, and he let us use his printer. Any time we had a question or needed somehting, he was a text message away. We were able to cook there too (although we mostly ate out... because NYC food is delicious). The location is very convenient - right next to Central Park (which is beautiful), and the subway. There are little food spots right around the corner too. An incredible experience!
The location of the place is ok, but the room itself was very dirty and we had to wash the floor ourselves. The whole apartment is very untidy, stinky and the shower doesn't work properly. The room is situated in the basement, basicly our windows were on the ground, facing the internal yard full of trash. To get into the room you need to go down on a very stip and narrow stairs, so keep it in mind if you have a big and heavy luggage. There was renovation in the apartment next door so we were waking up from drilling sounds everyday. The wi fi didn't work most of the time and there was no cellular reception at all. I understand that you get what you are paying for and since it was pretty cheap I shouldn't complain, but I wasn't expecting it to be That bad and for shure I wouldn't take it if it would be mentioned that I will stay in the bunker without sunlight. The only nice thing about it was that we got clean bedsheets and Jeremy was very friendly, though he didn't offer us help in carrying our bags downstairs.
Jeremy was one of my most favorite hosts! He was fabulous, and ever so helpful! Told us areas to visit and areas to avoid. Things to do and places to eat, etc. He even helped us with our luggage down the stairs! The area was safe, with loads of places to eat and get groceries, and most important, the subway was only a few blocks away!!
Quite dissapointed to say the least. The actual room is not the one depicted, in fact the room is a downstairs room or rather basement. Which has a tiny spiral staircase. The air conditioning consists of fans. In summary the apartment is fit for a John Belushi college character. Which is fine if that is something you're looking for.
