We absolutely loved our stay in Catherine's pretty little house. The bottle of cider in the fridge was a welcome treat on arrival! (and we had to find more in town as it became our favourite local tipple) The garden was the perfect place to eat breakfast and relax in the afternoon - so private! The kitchen is kitted out with all you need to cook meals. We also appreciated Catherine's suggestions - La Neptune was our favourite restaurant in town. Such friendly service and good food. There's a really lovely summer outdoor bar/cafe "La Cabane Paimpol" just two minutes down by the water, which serves the most delicious mussels (along with other fish, seafood and also burgers) - an idyllic spot to sit outside and watch the sun set over the town. We wandered down here a few times during our stay! Again very friendly welcoming staff, and clearly a local favourite spot - it was always busy for eat in or take away!
The house is situated a good 25 minute walk from the heart of Paimpol (and shops), by the shallow (and very tidal!) bay. There's a path that winds its way along the waterfront, past the Abbaye de Beauport, through a tidal wetlands area with lots of birds, and we even spotted a resident otter!
Our dog was welcomed almost everywhere, although many of the beaches are not dog friendly (even on leash) in the summer (seemed to be May-Oct) - but we managed to find a few beaches that do allow dogs (either a good walk, or drive). The park by the "Moulin de Poulefret" is a popular dog walking area, and even provides free doggie bags!
Catherine responded almost immediately to our initial request, and was very helpful in accommodating our last minute booking. Her efforts to help us with French were also much appreciated and made up for our lack of the language!
Overall, we definitely recommend this place for a relaxing getaway holiday.
