Charmful traditional ground-floor house on the heights of the typical fishermen & farmers' village of Aljezur. We love our cosy and environment-friendly house. Terrace with view to the green hills of the wild SW coast.
The houses of the old part of the Aljezur village keep you warm during winter and let you sleep cool during summer. The thick walls made of clay, sand and lime act as a buffer to the heat waves of the Algarve region.
We strive to maintain and equip the house in the up most respect for the environment. On top of that, no cars drive past the house : enjoy the sea breeze without any contamination !
We love natural materials. Furniture are all made of wood, sleeping is Japanese style : tatamis and futon mattresses (some find it a bit hard for the back).
Disponible para huéspedes
Guests have access to the whole house.
Atención a los huéspedes
We both enjoy facilitating access to the local culture and giving tips on cool places to visit or the right place to buy your veggies and fish. Feel free to ask anything upon arrival and contact or visit us during your stay. We are staying in a nearby valley in a garden of Eden :-)
Ask us if you are looking for surf rentals or tours.
Otros aspectos destacables
Nature around Aljezur has been preserved, this is also true concerning the wildlife around the houses of the old part of the town. You might be able to observe around the house ants, geckos, toads, wasps, woodlouses... We intend to keep the house safe from these little animals through the use of natural ingredients. That is cool for your kids but might not be as radical as a chemical product. We ask for your comprehension and know that you can always report to us any intrusion and we will come and fix it :-)
- This natural house is somehow a living organism, it needs to get fresh air and feel the sun's rays everyday. Give the house a treat : wake up, open the windows and feel the rising sun and the sea breeze cleanse it. When you leave the house, leave the shutters open, don't fear the thieves, the house doesn't like to be left in the dark :-)
- Leave the doors and windows open while you are on the terrace. It is very pleasant and helps keeping fresh air inside the house for all :-).
- Well-behaved pets are welcome as long as they don't climb on beds or sofa.
My partner and I are very much interested about the particularities of every culture, its ground values, way of thinking. Consequently we love demystifying the Portuguese culture. We feel happy if we can make you feel a little bit like an insider and help you meet with the locals.
