The bathrooms are perfect, apart from the shower. I don't really get the point of bathtubs. The beds are huge!

Interesting place with a beautiful location along a ridge with lakes and slopes on either side. Papajero was responsive and the banana pancakes for breakfast were great.

The hotel has a magnificent location with a wonderful host. The facilities are unfortunately getting old but the potential that the host is devoted to develop with time is considerable. We would really like to visit this place in a year to see how well it evolved.

10 Käfer in seinem pancake jeden Tag bekam.

Place is very serene, probably because it is secluded. Good location for a break. Food around here is generally great and very affordable. Weather wise, it's wonderful. The altitude is quite high there, and the temperature felt like 20 degrees (C) when we visited in Nov 2016. I would say it's necessary to arrange for a driver. You can let Papajero know and he can arrange for you. Cost is pretty hefty though, about 400,000 IDR for one-way. Back to airport will cost anoth(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) IDR. That's probably the only expensive cost. There's wifi in the lobby, but it wasn't fast, so I'll say not to rely on it too heavily. This area also has waterfalls and temples that you can visit. The (trekking) distance is within 10km. We travelled about 3km to a waterfall then (or so the sign there says).

Good place but the welcoming is ont very warm. In the description, it's written that you can rent a motorbike. But, it is not the case... Don't worry you have some rental shop in the area.

I was born and raised in our beautiful village called Wanagiri. Wana means forest and giri means mountains - and that's what you will find here!
My family used to be farmers until we were displaced from our land. With the help and encouragement from several kind travelers we started hosting backpackers who wanted to explore the rural parts of Bali. We started to run a restaurant, then a guesthouse and a few months ago we got the amazing opportunity to rent our the beautiful villas of a once luxurious hotel.

Wanagiri is on the edge of an ancient volcanic crater overlooking two lakes. There are hidden temples and secluded waterfalls in the surrounding jungles and it seems every time we go for a hike we explore something new. But sadly the people are illegally cutting trees and carry them out of the forest to make a few dollars. We want to show them that the forest is much more valuable as a whole. Our goal is to protect the forests with sustainable tourists so that many more people can explore the beauty of the mountains.

We made hiking maps, experimented with menus for our guests and gave English classes to the kids in the village. We are figuring out ways to recycle and dispose the plastic rubbish, because we believe the plastic problem can only be solved if we start on the top and try to keep the rivers clean.

As our guest you are invited to be part of our family. I live with my wife, Mama Jero, my daughter Koming and our granddaughter Yuna, in the guest house.
