Turn of the century house in the middle of Farmville. Short drive to Greenville and Wilson. This is a listing for the entire house. See Fern Gully if you would like the option to save money by sharing the house and Twisted Ginko! if you would like to book a do-it-yourself room.
Beautiful wood, antique furniture - elegant style with all the quirky features that come along with four generations of use and remodeling.
You will have the house to yourself unless I specify prior to booking that it will be shared. If I receive an inquiry for a shared room during your stay, I may ask you if you would like to receive a discount and accept or you can decline and keep the house to yourself.
See my other listing 'Fern Gully' or 'Duck, Duck, Rabbit' for a private room in this house.

I'm still learning how this house works and what things to worry about from season to season. You should expect something to come up and I want to do everything in my power to fix problems as they arise.
If it's very cold, you will need to use electric space heaters to warm individual rooms to a comfortable temperature. Please make use of fans in the summertime to stay cool.
You can park in the driveway or on the street in front of the house. Don't unplug the timer/lamp in the parlour room.
Please do not sit cold/hot/wet dishes on any wooden furniture without a coaster, glass, or other protection.
Please do not operate any windows unless absolutely necessary. They are old and many are in need of repair or replacement.
Please do not wait until you leave to bring issues to my attention. Don't be shy. My goal is to make your stay comfortable, affordable, and to address any concerns that arise fully and in a timely and direct fashion.
Please keep the thermostats within 2 degrees of the CURRENT TEMPERATURE while PRESENT in the house and when you LEAVE please set the thermostats 5 degrees lower than your preferred temperature in the winter (5 above in summer).
When you first arrive, please set the thermostat to 64 in winter or 78 in summer. After that temperature is reached, you may adjust up to 2 degrees at a time. This is to avoid running the heat or AC continuously, which is very wasteful. Set BOTH thermostats to 55 in winter or 85 in summer when you leave for more than 24 hours.
Use fans and space heaters to make individual rooms more comfortable. Close doors to make space heaters more effective. It is too expensive to heat and cool the hallways any more than necessary. If the heat or electric bills are more than twice the historical average for that month, I will need to bill your for excess use.
Please do not fold dirty towels or make your bed as you're leaving. If the person cleaning isn't quite sure which ones you used someone might end up with used sheets or towels.
Do not remove any items from the house. Do not litter or waste water, gas, or electricity if possible.
Try your best not to allow water to fall outside the bathtubs and notify me if there are any leaks from the roof or plumbing.
Do not attempt to open windows. Many are in need of repair or replacement. Use caution when plugging electronics into electrical outlets. Some are in need of repair or replacement.
Contact me immediately if anything should go wrong and I will do my best to remedy the situation.
If anyone not accounted for in your booking will stay overnight in the house, you should notify me.
There are to be no wild parties or irresponsible drinking in or at the house.
