It looks like a cupboard door and opens into Narnia. Well, maybe not, but it is surprising non-the-less! The spiral staircase leads to a bright attic room that has a lovely view across the city valley.
Only 15mins walk from the city centre.

El lugar

The house is over 100 years old, it is the style of the workers houses of that time, perhaps otherwise known as 2-up/2-downs, or you may have seen them on Coronation Street?
The bedroom has a single bed with a guest bed underneath that can pop up to the same height as the top bed. So, a single room really but can have two people if a staying only a short time.
There is a desk, chair, lamp, bedside table and built in wardrobe, plus TV hairdryer and mirror.
There is a kitchen and living room, a shared bathroom (with shower), my bedroom and a guest attic room. There is a small decked area outside.

Disponible para huéspedes

You may access all of the house except my bedroom on the first floor.

Atención a los huéspedes

If I am around I will help you all you need. I find it important to help my guests make the most of their stay and will help you plan your days, transport etc where I can so that you can make the most of being in Sheffield. I don't plan to be your new best friend but welcome company if you want it.

Otros aspectos destacables

There is a cat, and although I try not to let her in the attic she will sneak up there if the door is open. You must therefore not be allergic to cats.
Your room is your own, if you wish to stay long term it is best that you know that I will not be cleaning it. I am happy however to do your laundry, including bedding and towels (which are provided).

Comfortable room and great location if you don't want to stay right in the heart of Sheffield- close walks to many places to eat, Sheffield Botanical Garden, and Edincliff Park.

Close to several sites, on the bus line to the peak district. Quiet, with nice private porch.

Shelley is very friendly and helpful. Her home is lovely, almost magical with the spiral staircase leading up to the attic (though perhaps a bit cramped if you're traveling with a friend, so much more suitable if you're traveling solo). There is a park and the the botanical gardens close by. There are also a lot of shops along the main road, within a few minutes walk. We especially enjoyed Ella's Cafe. Overall, we had a lovely time in Sheffield.

I had a nice time in Sheffield. The room was just as pictured. Clean with a beautiful view of the city. Shelley was very kind. She drove me around a little bit the first day and let me use her washer. There are plenty of restaurants, shops, and little grocery stores nearby. It's about an hour's hike to the Peak District from the house and about a twenty-minute walk to the city center. You can take bus 218 from the city center to Chatsworth House and back for £5.50. The train station is about a forty-five minute walk from the house, so I'd recommend a taxi. I had a lovely time at Shelley's and so will you.

Respuesta de Shelley:
The house was having a new kitchen and bathroom and took longer than the month that I had planned for it to take. The house was therefore not habitable to host a guest...or even myself! Sincere apologies.

In my 40s but young at heart. I now work in commercial insurance and live in my home town with my one-eyed cat. But! I have travelled extensively and worked in other countries too.
I am actively involved in community activities and campaigns as well as tending my vegetable garden.
I have hosted many foreign students over several years now and find it rewarding and satisfying to help other people enjoy my city.
