Pros - This place is so conveniently located. It is very close to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Cistern and so many restaurants and bars. The hosts are really welcoming and Amy is just delightful. Emre was extremely responsive and helped with much of our transportation to and from the airports. He was reliable. The room was clean and the shower pressure is great, which is a blessing after long days of walking in the heat. The beds are firm and sheets clean. Wifi is good too.
Cons- We were expecting (as advertised) a penthouse/apartment to ourselves. However, from the description one wouldn't be able to tell the room is in a hostel and up four floors, with no elevator. The stairs aren't really an issue unless you have luggage to carry up a narrow flight of stairs.
From the pictures we expected it to be secluded and serene. And while the room met all our basic needs the pictures are not necessarily representative of the reality. While, it looks modern in the pictures in reality it is dated. There isn't a mini-fridge, the bedding isn't quite soft and comfortable and you have to pay for towels. I would recommend updating the pictures. The balcony has a beautiful view but the furniture on it needs to be replaced as they are old, rickety and uncomfortable. The kitchen was rather small, dark and a little messy, perhaps it was just the time we popped in.
Conclusion- If you are a budget traveller this place is perfect. However, if you are looking for a little more comfort (like we were hoping for) and privacy it may not be ideal. All in all, the room was basic - it met the needs, the hosts were great, location is fantastic and safe.
