With a large sunny, private balcony high above the waterfront with wonderful uninterrupted views of the estuary, village and out to sea, this unique apartment captures all the charm and character of Appledore while offering modern facilities and a feeling of space and proximity to the water.

With stunning views of the estuary and village from the top floor of this converted Victorian cinema, the penthouse apartment offers visitors an unparalleled perspective of this popular North Devon fishing village.

In decades past the building seated 300 cinema goers, but now the Gaiety Penthouse offers luxury accommodation for four people, with modern amenities and an uninterrupted 180° + vista from the breaking waves of Westward Ho! to the sandy beach at Instow and the village of Appledore.

The open plan living room with kitchen and dining area provides an abundance of natural light as well as access to a large, sunny balcony overlooking the water. Two en-suite bedrooms (one double, one double/twin) benefit from plenty to space, as well as views over the village and the estuary. Situated a few hundred yards along the narrow, partially cobbled Irsha Street which is part of the South West Coastal Path and full of quaint, colourful fishermen’s cottages, the Penthouse is a short walk from Appledore’s quayside.

Beautiful flat. It is a quiet area. There is a pub a short minute walk, with friendly staff and good food. For dog lovers this is paradise. Although we did not have our own dog with us, there were a variety of dogs being walked in the area. A visit to Clovelly is a must. Pier Harbour in Westward Ho! has beautiful lobster.and there is a lovely beach. All in all an enjoyable trip.

We love Appledore so may be a little biased but Chris's place is an ideal place to stay. The apartment is modern, light, well furnished & equipped, with great views. Communication is prompt and straightforward. We'll definitely return!

The apartment was immaculately clean, check in was very quick and easy. Chris gave us all the information we needed before we arrived and we were very happy with our stay. I personally feel the pictures did not do justice to the apartment. The view from the balcony was stunning. Thank you Chris!

Wow. A stunning apartment to explore Appledore. The amenities were of top quality. The balcony provides superb views of the river and sunsets. Chris provides plenty of information on the local area.

We had an incredible stay here - the apartment is spacious and beautifully presented to a very high standard, with stunning coastal views. The village of Appledore is within easy walking distance and has everything you could wish for. The girls loved walking along the pretty harbour in the morning to buy croissants from the local bakery. The water comes right up to the base of the building. We loved watching the changing tides and boats going past. When the tide is out there are rock pools to explore and sand to play on. An excellent place for a family break. Parking is no problem - there is space to unload outside and a car park just before the street to leave your car in. We paid £16 for a seven day ticket, but also found out if you pay £20 on-line to Torridge council you can have a 7 day ticket that covers all car parks in the surrounding area. I would highly recommend this to anyone and we will certainly book here again.

A beautiful apartment overlooking the estuary. Wonderful views and a tranquil setting. Apartment was clean and modern with everything we needed for our stay. Delighted with the stay and Chris was a pleasure to deal with. Will book again.
