***Our baby boy arrived November 7, 2017, so there is now a newborn in the household! We are still hosting--please feel free to book! But also be prepared for baby noises.***
People from all walks of life welcome!
Private room with double bed in 4-bedroom/1 bathroom apartment in East Hollywood near Los Feliz/Silver Lake. 2 blocks from Red Line to Downtown, North Hollywood, & tourist Hollywood. An hour by Metro to the beach. All food in the kitchen is available for eating and cooking!
This is a 4-bedroom apartment occupied by a married couple and their newborn baby, a dog, and other Airbnb guests.
This bedroom is just across from the bathroom. The bed is a double. Lately this room is rented long-term by our friend Charlie, but when he travels, we open it up on Airbnb. He packs away most of his stuff so that guests have plenty of space, but we haven't had a chance to update the pictures yet and the furniture has changed slightly since he moved in. The bed is the same, though!
We all share one bathroom (anywhere from 5 to 9 people), so please be prepared for that.
It's a boisterous apartment building with occasional loud music, lots of small dogs, and families with small children. Sometimes our neighbors get in shouting matches. We're on the top floor, so there's no footsteps overhead, but the walls are fairly thin so you can hear things outside easily and you'll probably want to leave the windows open because there's no AC, so it's hard to cancel out the noise.
Disponible para huéspedes
Guests have access to the kitchen and all food in the kitchen.
We have many board games you are welcome to play, but please leave in the apartment. Board game collection listed on boardgamegeek under user Lochleinn.
Atención a los huéspedes
When we are home, we are available to chat if you want, but are also happy to give you your privacy.
Because the kitchen is shared, it may occasionally be crowded. Family-style dinners are not uncommon and you are welcome to join us for those.
We are also always happy to play board games with you and have a wide selection to choose from.
We won 2nd Place in The Last Grilled Cheese Invitational "Love, American Style" Amateur Division... so... we can make really good grilled cheese for you, if you let us know you want it. Also, Stina's a vegetarian and Brendan's not, so all palates can be accommodated.
Otros aspectos destacables
There is a resident homeless population on our street. They are occasionally loud, but we've never felt any concerns for our safety.
When family and friends visit and spend the night, they occasionally stay in The Pantry Room, so there may be yet another person sharing that one bathroom and the common kitchen.
We want you to feel comfortable, so please just ask if there's anything you feel unsure about, and please read all the information we provide on this site so you know what to expect.
We do not have keys for the bedrooms, so please do not lock the door when you exit the room. The key is only good for the front doors to the apartment.
We live in this apartment and are not always the tidiest. We do our best to keep the common spaces cleaned up, but sometimes clutter collects or hair gathers in the corners of the bathroom.
There's no smoking or drugs inside the apartment. Alcohol is fine.
We'll all try to be conscientious about noise after people have gone to bed, but we also understand that having fun can be noisy.
The dog doesn't get human food, no matter what he tells you.
This is a safe, bullying-free space. We are LGBTQI friendly. We want you to feel happy and free and comfortable and intellectually stimulated here! And you can just sleep in the room and not interact with us much. That's also fine.
We love relationships built on trust. We have hitchhiked across the US and Europe and heard people's amazing stories as they took us a little further down our path.
We're from Seattle and have also lived in New Orleans and Magdeburg, Germany. We moved to L.A. in 2010 so Brendan could pursue acting here. Stina's a writer. We love to collaborate with one another and others and are involved in local theatre and film communities and we're members of a feminist writers' group.
We love games. We have a huge collection of board games and are happy to teach anyone any of them.
We don't own a car and scoff at the idea that you need one to live in L.A.
