Amazing location (so much better than we expected). Owner really communicative and helpful. Really lovely building and quite a spacious apartment. If you are a light sleeper, I would not recommend this apartment due to noise problems with construction areas above, below and beside this apartment. The construction guys indicated they are there for another 2-3 months. They start at 6:30am every single morning (drilling and hammering). You can also hear extensive noise from the footsteps of other building inhabitants above you. There is really nothing at all wrong with the apartment, it is just all the things that happen around it that make this a very very difficult place to stay. Your fitness level also needs to be quite good as it is top floor.

Thank you for your feed back! I'm glad for the most part you enjoyed your stay. I let every guest know upon booking that there is rehabbing going on as I did you prior to your stay. Rehabbing can be noisy that's why I let you know prior to coming, so if it is an issue you can choose to stay elsewhere. You chose to book regardless. I apologize that it was an annoyance. Unfortunately, I cannot predict how noisy it can sometimes be. Thank you so much for taking such great care of the unit. Communication was very easy and I hope the late checkout time you requested accommodated you well! The listing does indicate there is no elevator and perhaps you may have missed that, and if so yes, the stairwell does provide a small amount of exercise! Being that the unit is in Back Bay a block from Newbury Street and two from Boylston a person can gets tons of exercise just walking around seeing the sights! We stayed in this apartment for 7 weeks this summer. Our review is more mixed. Pros: (1) Location: the location of this apartment is very good- near Newbury Street and Prudential Center. Basically it's close to everything. (2) Communication: it's easy to communicate with the landlord. Julie is very responsive- she always responded our texts shortly. (3) Space: the apartment is very spacious and the inner decor is a simple, IKEA style. Cons: (1) Noise: During our stay, the two neighboring apartments were having construction work which caused annoying noise. Before we moved in, we were not being notified of the ongoing construction work. Besides, although the bedrooms face the back end ally, there is a restaurant in the back end alley and the patrons tend to stay in that restaurant until very late (sometimes until passed midnight) and so it was noisy. (2) Cleanness: the apartment was not well cleaned before we moved in. There was dust everywhere, especially on the floor. The towels seemed dirty and so we bought our own towels, linens, pillow, blankets and comforter. (3) Elevator: there is no elevator in this building which is a big issue for us since we stayed there for a long time and our luggages were heavy and bulky. It's not an easy task to move up and down several heavy luggages from/to this third-floor apartment. (4) Mailbox: we can understand it's not a big deal if you are only staying there for one night and do not have access to the mailbox. However, consider that you stay at an apartment for almost 2 months without access to the mailbox! We were not given the key to the mailbox in the beginning and so we could not get our letters and other packages for several weeks. After communicating with the landlord, she informed us that she does not have the key either. In the end, we left a message on the mailbox asking the mailman to take out our letters and leave future letters out of the mailbox. I think this is quite annoying. (5) Value for money: the apartment is on the expensive side. I have stayed at several serviced apartments for the past years. I would say with this price, I could have stayed at a better maintained serviced apartment in a new building with weekly cleaning service, elevator, 24-hour security guard. I specifically checked the serviced apartments after moving in. There are actually several good serviced apartments in that area which take short-term lease and charge similar or lower rates.

Thank you for your feedback Heather. This really is a beautiful unit in the heart of Back Bay. In the two months of your stay you contacted me regarding noise of construction and well as requesting a key for the mailbox. At that time I told you that If you needed to relocate you would be reimbursed. We did not have a discussion prior to your arrival of the mailbox being available or in your case needing it to be available. I do not add it as an ammenity in the listing, so my apologize regarding the confusion. I wish you had addressed these other issues with me during your stay. I had no idea you felt the unit wasn't clean or that you had any issues with the linens. I would have had the cleaners come back had you of addressed your concerns with me. All the linens are cleaned upon a guests departure and although the linens may appear slightly worn by no means are they dirty. Again, I wish you had brought this to my attention so that I could have accommodated you to maximize the experience of your visit! One of the main reasons that this unit is so immensely popular is the fact it's in the heart of Back Bay. Walking distance to some of the greatest restaurants and shopping on Newbury Street. As well as half a mile from Fenway Park. It's not in the suburbs, so normal city noise is heard. A majority of the reviews speak for themselves and I do take pride in this Unit. I would suggest in the future letting your host know when you are not satisfied with something and allow the opportunity to resolve your concern so that we have an opportunity to ensure your stay is a pleasant one!

Julie's condo was awesome! It was one block off of Newbury Street which has a ton of shopping and great restaurants! We were close to many attractions and able to walk to them or Uber. There is a little park across the street to sit and take in the city. Any question you may have, Julie responds to them in a in a very quick manner. Two examples, we were going to run out of toilet paper and the next day we had some sitting at our door. Second, our outgoing flight was four hours delayed and she let us extend our check out several hours so we didn't have to walk around Boston with all our luggage from our extended vacation. This was extremely considerate. We fell in love with the city of Boston (this was our first visit) and, if not for the cold weather in the winter, we would put this on our list of possible places to retire. Can't say enough about the city or the location of this property. One thing, if you bring a young child or baby you may want to bring a noise machine because if you haven't slept in the city before there are the regular city noises to get used to at night and in the morning. However, we love, love, love this property!

This is a beautiful, generously sized apartment in what is probably the nicest residential section of Boston. A park runs the length of Commonwealth Avenue, and is right across the street. Although close to everything, the street is completely residential and quiet even though noisy Boylston Ave is only two blocks away. Restaurants, the Hynes Center, the T, Fenway Park, and the best of Boston are all within an easy walking distance. The apartment itself is lovely, with simple Ikea furnishings and equipped with dishwasher, washer and drier, two bathrooms, and everything you could possibly need. It is on the third floor with no elevator in case that's an issue for you, but otherwise the place is perfect. Julie was the perfect host; instantly available for questions (or dishwasher soap) but otherwise invisible. We stayed a full week and were sad to leave.

Julie's apartment is in the Back Bay Area of Boston on a beautiful tree lined avenue. It is halfway between Fenway Park and the Boston gardens and harbour. The apartment was spotless, there was a spare mattress and lots of bedding and towels for us to use. The central loving are and kitchen were great for use as a family / friends. I wouldn't hesitate to stay with Julie again.

This was a great airbnb to stay in for a trip to Boston! It is centrally located and there are TONS of places to walk to for food, shopping, historical locations, etc...and the convention center is close! There are several grocery stores nearby and TONS of restaurants. I loved that each bedroom has its own bathroom and a good closet. It was very clean and communicating with Julie was a breeze! Easy check in and out! The only draw back was that it was a 4th floor walk up (I somehow missed that detail, so am mentioning it here to make sure you are aware!). Also, check with the progress of the renovation next door. The workers arrive promptly at 7 (URL HIDDEN) only affected us one morning since we were there over a holiday weekend with Monday off. Otherwise, it was PERFECT! I would love to stay here again when I return to Boston!
