Atención a los huéspedes
As much or as little as they want! We speak French and Japanese and are looking forward to meeting people, but won't get in your face if you're not feeling social.
Otros aspectos destacables
There are lots of stairs here. Great exercise, but we thought we should warn you! Also, we have cats but do not let them onto the third floor, where the apartment is--we keep it allergen-free for guests.
We're quiet and hope you are too, since we live right downstairs. No smoking, no parties or events.
I'm a friendly, easygoing writer, lawyer and (mostly former) world traveler; I lived in Europe for 7 years--in England (Manchester and London) and France. I speak fluent French and my husband, a roboticist and antique aviation enthusiast, speaks Japanese. We love introducing people to the Pittsburgh community; we've lived here since before the turn of the century and know tons of people in all walks of life (especially high tech, law/politics, and the arts). We're also LGBT friendly.
We have way WAY more books than is probably healthy (haha) and are big music and arts lovers, particularly alternative and British rock, ragtime and 20s jazz, movies (indie, foreign, classic Hollywood, sci fi), great photography, and comic books (especially Moebius and R. Crumb). Our book collection, some of which you'll find in the apartment, is very eclectic: fiction (modern, classic, speculative, sci fi/fantasy), architecture and design, spirituality, science and technology, health and wellness, quirky biographies and history.
As our guest, you will have fresh towels, a variety of blanket options (tell us what you prefer), your own kitchen with dishes, silverware, a tea kettle and coffee maker (plus a selection of tea and coffee), your own laundry room, and your own bathroom with both a tub and shower. We have a cat, but she won't be in your space; we keep the apartment cat-free in case any guests have allergies. We are open to both longer rentals and travelers who are just passing through.
