You may have as little or as much privacy as you like. This is our home, but our private quarters are downstairs behind the kitchen. We are always here to enjoy your company and provide whatever you need.

Two of our bedrooms also have attached but separate "sleeping alcoves" (6 x 9) with twin-size beds and night stands, in addition to the bed in the main room itself. This alcove in the Blue Room is included in the $85 per night price for that room (because that room is smaller and has a three-quarter size Victorian bed instead of a queen-size bed), but the alcove in the Green Room is $25 extra per night. Guests may pay for that alcove upon arrival, since there is no provision for listing it as an extra charge on this site.
Also, children age five and under sleep free on mats on the floor in their parents' room. We have a pac-n-play for babies and three sleeping mats and bedding for children sleeping on the floor. Please contact us If you have special circumstances or needs, and we will do all we can to accommodate them.

My husband David and I are the innkeepers of Porch Time Bed and Breakfast in Farmington, Iowa. We moved to Farmington from Florida in 2013, seeking a slower, less-stressful life near family doing the things we truly enjoy. We chose Farmington for its extremely friendly, welcoming people; natural beauty, and abundance of simple pleasures. Openinjust seemed the next most natural and right thing to do, and this allows us to extend hospitality--which we love! David is a carpenter, graphic artist, city councilman, and wonderful husband, and I am a teacher and love to write, paddle rivers, entertain, and read. We both try to contribute all we can to our community, and helping others discover the joys of living in and visiting Van Buren County.
