Andrea's place is the quintessential Tuscan farmhouse -- verdant, comfortable, authentically rustic, and welcoming. The beds were enveloping in the chilly evenings with their cozy down comforters. And the views! Indescribable. Honestly, it's worth the visit just to sit on the terrace and drink in the countryside. Andrea was lovely -- quick with communication, and very sweet. He gifted us a jar of honey collected from his bees, shared cherries from a beautiful tree out front, and gave us a tour of his rose bushes (much to the delight of our baby son, who makes a game out of smelling flowers). I feel like we would have done the place more justice had we been visiting with other adults for a week rather than with a baby for a few days -- the kitchen was begging to be used, and the hike into town would've been nicer than having to drive and park. All in all, a lovely visit. Would recommend!

This is one of the best air bnb's Danita and I have stayed at with its truly meditative view, it is indescribably breathtaking. The farm house has so much character, the down comforter is fluffy and warm, and it was so fun to make our fire in the fireplace each night. Andrea's property has more roses than I have ever seen in one place and the grounds around the house are beautiful and tended with love. Also the outdoor cats are super cute. Andrea greeted us with a delicious bottle of his homemade wine that we enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the unbelievable countryside. Volterra is a darling city with so much to explore. Everyone should experience this secret corner of the world.

Andrea was such a fantastic host! I was a bit worried that it would be hard to find given other reviews but we had no problem. The home itself is SOO charming. We loved arriving to a fire in the fireplace and some of Andreas honey (and some kitty friends greeting us). The views were spectacular. The bed was so warm and comfortable that we slept like babies both nights. We did go in November and the house was pretty cold. The fire kept the loving area nice and cozy but I dreaded having to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. I'd really love going back in spring or summer to escape some of cold rainy weather we came upon. Would definitely recommend this place and hope return some day!

This was a lovely stay out in the country. Andrea left a bottle of wine and some honey for us to enjoy, and was available to make suggestions during our stay. The accommodations were as pictured, and great views from the bedrooms. We loved eating at the restaurant in town, Da Bado, where the house wine was delicious and the food amazing! Would definitely recommend this place for hikers. We had a short walk to the walled city of Volterra, and an additional hike to some etruscan tombs. The walk was hilly but enjoyable for experienced hikers.

Andrea was there to greet us and made us feel very welcome in spite of arriving very late. The listing was accurate. The apartment was very rustic and comfortable with a very attractive decor.

We just loved Andrea and his home. He was so warm and welcoming --gave us some honey and wine that he made on his land, and showed us cats and the newborn kittens in the shed. The house is very very old and very charming with a ton of character. Beautiful view out back. Thank you, Andrea!

This place is a real gem - highly recommended!!! We stayed here for over a week and loved every second of it. The 3-level house is quite large and spacious. It is located on a small farm a little outside Volterra. The terrace for the exclusive use of the guests is phenomenal - unbeatable views of Tuscan countryside. There are chairs and tables, recliners etc. on the terrace - perfect place to chill or have a picnic. Kitchen is well stocked, beds are comfy and rooms are bright and breezy. Andrea is a great host - he greeted us with a bottle of his own wine and honey. He was super helpful with local information. The house is about a 15-20 min walk from Volterra city center. Even though we had a rental car, but we ended up walking to the city several times since it is a beautiful walk along a very low traffic local road meandering through olive orchards and past an old church - very pretty!!! The walk to the city is almost all uphill. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Tuscany. All-in-all a fantastic experience.
