Of all the Airbnbs at which I have stayed, this was the closest to a "home" experience. Shuji picked my friend and I up from the train station as the listing was quite far away and treated us to dinner as he and his wife Noriko were afraid that we had not eaten yet. We got to know each over a delicious home meal, and they helped us plan the rest of our stay in Okayama.
For the duration of the stay, my friend and I had quite early plans, and Shuji and Noriko drove us to and from the station every time even though they were not obligated to at all. When we came home at night, they cooked for us and ensured that we were well-rested for the next day's activities.
Although the location of the listing was not ideal for exploring places outside Okayama, Shuji and Noriko (and their two adorable cats!) made the stay worthwhile. The home was incredibly clean and comfortable; if I did not have work, I would have liked to stay longer.
Noriko and Shuji's is the ideal place for someone who wants to live with locals and exchange cultural experiences. Thank you for your hospitality! We hope to visit again soon.
