My friends and I spent two weeks at Phil's place in Blackheath and it was superb. The neighbourhood is charming, the nearby heath is incredible and the adjacent Greenwich Park is even more spectacular, and there are several buses and a rail station close at hand that make getting anywhere in London perfectly simple. Phil was a great host, and when we needed him he was responsive and thorough about meeting our needs. This flat is perfect for anyone who wants a quiet, comfortable home to return to at the end of the day.

Phil was an excellent and very helpful host. He was always quick to respond to any queries we had and seemed like a very nice guy whenever we spoke. The flat is nicely located just a couple minutes walk from Blackheath and about ten minutes from the station. The upstairs has high ceilings that give the kitchen and living room a nice airy feel. I stayed with my and two kids and we all enjoyed our stay. Thanks Phil.

Phil was a fantastic host, incredibly welcoming and very communicative all the way through the process. There were a few maintenance issues that needed to be sorted out whilst we were staying at his property and despite being in another country he was available and quick to sort things out for us. He also kept checking back to ensure that we were happy with how things had been resolved.

I would definitely recommend this pace to anyone seeking for a different London experience, far from the chaotic overcrowded city and close to interesting and relaxing amenities such as Greenwich Park (5 min walking), Thames path/riverside (15 mins walking), Cutty Sark-Greenwich town, Blackheath Town (7-10 mins bus) and of course the O2 arena (10 mins bus). If you are looking for crazy nightlife around the corner, this is not the place for you. Blackheath and Greenwich have a number of restaurants and pubs but nothing more. After 11 pm silence rules. The house is very nicely located in a peaceful road of stunning Westcombe Park/Maze Hill neighbourhood. A few shops and supermarkets are within walking distance. I booked this place for my parents who came to visit me for one week. They are a couple on their late 50s-early 60s and I think this was just the perfect place for them. The house was very clean, the furniture is "minimal" and very functional. On the ground floor there is a massive and bright lounge with 2 comfortable sofas and a big screen TV, and a large stunning eat-in kitchen with an isolated central cookery. Everything equipped with modern top quality tools and electrical appliances such as dish-washer, washing machine, huge fridge and freezer and oven. The best thing about the ground floor is the high roof and large, tall windows, which give brightness and make the place look even bigger. The bedrooms are downstairs in the basement, which might be the only flaw of the house. It's two of them, one is massive and ensuite with a king size bed, decent wardrobe and plenty of space. Well sized ensuite bathroom with nice shower. Second room is bit smaller but still a much bigger than average double room, with a double bedroom and enough space for a couple. Both bedrooms benefit from well located windows which make them bright enough even in the basement. There is what seems to be a very nice and spacious garden which unfortunately we could not access as it was being refurbished. I am sure during summertime it has a lot of potential. With regards to the landlord, as per my experience Mr Phil is definitely a decent trustful person. He is punctual, available and professional. As I said, the house was very clean and tidy and everything they needed was provided. He left as a welcome for my parents a tasty bottle of Italian wine and a bowl of strawberries, which was much appreciated. The city centre is reachable rather easily. Westcombe park station is located 10-15 minutes walking. From there (Zone 3) a train will get to London Bridge station in 17 minutes. North Greenwich station (Jubilee Line and where the O2 arena/Emirates Airline are) is at a 10 minutes bus journey. From there Waterloo, Westminster and Green Park station are within 20-25 mins by tube. Bus stops are 3 minutes walk from the house (Blackheath Royal Standard) and 108 bus is 24 hours.
