3-bedroom cottage sits atop the ancient "Bolus Head", an iconic mountain steeped in Irish history. A 5-minute walk from the house to the top of the hillside offers an incredible view of the Skellig Islands and St. Finian's Bay.

Perfect for those in search of adventure, peaceful relaxation, or even a bit of both!

Skellig Island boat tour can be found less than 10 minutes away at Reen Pier, or 25 mins away from Portmagee pier.

El lugar

3 bedrooms.
/// Room 1: Two single beds ///
Room 2: Two single beds ///
Room 3: Master loft with king bed ///

Also 2 spare single beds in the "laundry" room, can be turned into a 4th bedroom very easily.

The house is 20 mins from Caherciveen, 10 mins from Waterville and 5 minutes from Ballinskelligs beach. There are many little cafes & pub surrounding the beach, and if you or your children are into swimming or any other watersports this is a fantastic beach. This area is steeped in Irish tradition and is even one of the few remaining places that Irish is spoken!

If you want to experience the real Irish countryside, walk among the sheep, sit down on the green earth, lean your back against ancient walls ,walk the mountains, visit standing stones or other sacred sites or simply have a great time exploring fishing, golf, etc there is no better place. This is a walker's and hiker's paradise, with the famous "Bolus Loop Walk" trail just 5 mins away. (Voted best walking trail on the Wild Atlantic Way)

Bolus Head is a UNESCO Heritage site and is also a dark sky reserve, the only Gold Tier reserve in the northern hemisphere and 1 of only 3 in the world.

We hope to see you here soon, and as we say here in Ireland: sláinte!

The location is beautiful and the house is rustic and old world cozy. Kitchen and bathrooms could use improvement. Make sure you bring everything you need in terms of cooking ingredients as the house is out of the way of any conveniences. However, the views are to die for.

Amazing location at the end of the Iveragh Penninsula, country Kerry. If you're looking for a truly unique place to stay or just seeking peace and quiet (like you've never experienced before), this is your place We loved it (for the former reason), and highly recommend Tadhg's place for those who know what they're looking for and getting into. In terms of what you're getting into: be prepared for an approximately 4-mile journey down rough, single-lane dirt roads, and then a stay in a house -- not just a location, though that, too -- that is very rustic. If that's what you seek, sign up for a stay at Tadhg's now!

This is a exactly what the title describes! We highly recommend! I would only add "unique" or maybe "home" for that is what this place became for us in just five days. We did not want to leave. You are not quit at the "end of the road" as that belongs to your only neighbor, a hardy life long caretaker of the hundreds of sheep that roam the green and rocky hills below you and behind you. Sit by a warm peat fire as the mist moves across your incredible expansive views, or walk up the small road a few meters, (path really), jump a couple of gates, (welcome to do that) and find yourself on top of the world overlooking the wild Atlantic with the Skelligs for backdrop and green pastures dotted with small farms over your right shoulder. Do not miss a clear night as you will be awed by the display of stars overhead, and even if cloud covered, the nights with the shadows of islands in the distance and the sound of wind and ocean will impact you in profound ways. If you walk along the road, (6KM down the hill to the near-by pub of Cable O'Learys), and it is shrouded in mist, you will know you are home by the sound of a small brook that runs in front of the home. You phone may not work in the home, which could be a gift, but if you must, you may get a bar or two outside but four for sure walking up the hill or simply 25 meters down the road. Wifi, at the great beach, (and that beach is cool), cafe down the road and good fish and chips at the Atlantic Grill across from O'Learys. DO NOT miss visiting the artists center in the village. A must see! The home is large, and easily can accommodate a family or up to six couples. We were looking for a place to rest, renew, and reflect. One may say a "retreat." This was perfect! We may many meals in the well fitted kitchen, and spent hours in the large "artist's" room with grand views. We walked to the village and back, ( A good hike), and spent time on the Bolus Loop, amazingly by ourselves! We loved the occasional hiker who would wander by and lean on the fence and talk with us for a bit. And if your thinking this may be too remote for you, DON'T! You can easily drive to Dingle, Valentia Island, and much of the Ring of Kerry. So much is around you, yet you come home to solitude and natrual beauty.

Words can not describe this perfect cabin/cottage on the mountaintop. A view of the ocean, isolation from society, the company of a hundred grazing sheep, and a toasty fireplace for the nighttime? What more could be asked for when retreating to Kerry for a breath of country life? My family and I had a great time on Bolus at Tadhg's home and would stay there again and again.

It was a great experience to stay in the cottage with four children age 9 to 13 . Perfect for us six: the kitchentable and the place in front of the fire to come together. We hiked up the mountain behind the house, liked the sheep all around us, enjoyed the view over the atlantic, had Billard and a beer down in Cable O'Learys Pub every second evening and undertook a lot of outings into the beautiful landscape of Kerry. We would definitely come again. Thanks to Tadhg for the nice communication and to Louise who came to check if we needed anything.
