Our lovely ancient stone house is right next to the church in the heart of a traditional Gard village. The high walls give privacy to the sunny terraces and pool, making it the perfect place to relax into the laid-back south of France lifestyle.
Our very old, detached spacious house is located next to the church in a small square, in the middle of a sleepy village. It is a wonderfully relaxing and comfortable place to be.
The living area is split over two floors, each floor has a large terrace, and there is a small pool. The upper floor is accessed via an external staircase, which gives a sense of privacy from the lower floor.
The lower terrace has a large table for dining, a leafy shaded area for the hotter parts of the day and pretty terrace lights for sitting out in the warm evenings. The upper terrace has a beautiful view over the church and the village rooftops.
The thick stone walls keep the living room cool in summer, and a wood burning stove keeps it cosy in the cooler months. We love to cook with the amazing local ingredients so you will find that the kitchen is well-equipped.

In addition to the details listed above we have a lower ground floor space where you can safely keep bicycles. There is also a bike work stand and track pump.
We don't have a TV but there is wifi, and a small selection of DVDs if you bring a laptop. There is also an amp with speakers for your ipod/phone/tablet/laptop.
Atención a los huéspedes
Our friend Monika will greet you and show you around the house. She speaks English, French and German and will be able to give you any information you need. Then we will leave you alone!
You will be given a detailed guide to the house, the surrounding area, our favourite restaurants, local activities etc. This will include telephone numbers in case of emergency.
Depending on how long you stay, you might need to let someone in to tend to the pool - this is just a twenty minute visit.

Upper floor layout.
Please note that the upper floor is accessed via an external staircase. Most guests like the privacy that this gives but it occasionally might mean a short dash up the stairs in the rain - not that it rains that often in the south of France!
Also please note that bedroom two has a door and ensuite shower/wc but can only be accessed via bedroom three. Please take a look at the floor plans in the photos to check you are happy with this.
We have listed our house as family-friendly as we regularly have children here, and there are railings and bannisters on all staircases and walls. However, there are a lot of stone steps and hard stone floors so please consider this when deciding if it is the place for you. Please also see note about the pool below.
The layout of the house makes it impossible for us to fence the pool. It is fitted with a good quality immersion alarm that can be heard throughout the property, and you will be shown how to use it. It will be your responsibility to make sure that it is in 'watching' mode when you aren't using the pool. The pool is not heated, but the sun keeps the water at swimming temperature in the summer months. You don't want to try it outside of summer, unless you are particularly brave!
Is only installed on the ground floor, not upstairs.
We just ask you to be considerate to our neighbours as it is a small, quiet village. Everyone is easy going and friendly but this is a place for fun and relaxation, not for wild parties! Please do not choose our house if you like to make a lot of noise late into the night.
Hello! Jon is a Liverpudlian who travelled south to study fine art and Becky is a Surrey girl who also went to art college. We met 25 years ago at work (design and advertising) and we live just outside London with our French Bulldog, Eddie. We also lived and worked in Paris for two wonderful years and we love our house in France. We hope you do too.
