Blacksmith shop built in 1855 and converted to lovely 1100 square foot cottage with open, hand-axed beams and decorated in rustic style. Full kitchen, bath, queen bed bedroom loft and large great room with tv area, wood stove and two queen beds. Detached and very private. Plenty of off-street parking. No parties and no smoking!!!

Ping pong table has given way to two queen beds in the main room but we just love the picture and can't duplicate that shot with our crappy cellphone cameras!

El alojamiento
The site forces one to list in terms of bedrooms but the cottage is essentially three rooms: an eat-in kitchen, a ladder-accessible loft (bedroom #1) above the kitchen and a large great room. There's a queen bed in the loft (and little else) and room for two queen beds in the great room (bedroom #2). There's also room for a pack-and-play alongside the two queen beds.
The great room also has a nice TV/lounge area with sectional couch and leather chair.

There's also a covered porch in the rear, which is very private, and another in the front, which faces the main house and is less private but nevertheless a nice spot to greet the morning sun.

Acceso para huéspedes
The entire house is yours! Though we do ask that guests 10 and under not climb the loft ladder, for safety reasons. The yard is yours to share, but if you hang around too long we may hand you a rake.

Otros aspectos destacables
The house is old and quirky and cool, more in keeping with a B&B than a sleek modern hotel. If you're looking for a jetted tub and a fitness center you might prefer some of the chain hotels in the area. Our guests are drawn to the property's unique appeal, connection to history and interesting architecture - the very things that most hotels in the area lack.

There is a crap-ton of off-street parking and the neighborhood is very safe.

This really isn't a good place for smokers. We don't want any smoking on the property and standing on the sidewalk smoking just looks weird and gives the neighbors an opportunity to whine. Nothing personal!

The cottage is located in a quiet suburban neighborhood of boring people like us who used to go out but now are generally too tired to be any fun. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby but nothing within walking distance. This is not a good base from which to bar hop, rather a quiet place away from the noise. We host lots of folks who are here to see the Inner Harbor of Baltimore or the sights of DC, but generally they enjoy the peace and quiet that the cottage offers.

Just two mostly exhausted parents of five trying to keep their heads above water.
Durante tu estancia
We are generally nearby - as in across the courtyard - and strive to respond to guests with emergency coffee creamer and pancake syrup at all hours. No, seriously. Emergency pancake syrup. It's a real thing.
