Well, the welcoming could be better, as there was no one home when we arrived due to a mix-up in dates. Together with the fact that we did not get the familial environment we expected, but rather entered a student flat-like setting, managed by house watchers, we thought this place did not offer what the ad suggested. In particular the fact that we were alone all day with a dog of someone else, in a house that smelled like that same dog, was quite uncomfortable. Taken together, I think this listing should not have a lightning for direct bookings, as the house cannot accommodate guests immediately.
That being said, I must admit that Bob did anything within his power to set thing straight. He offered to refund the second night, which we had cancelled, and repeatedly excused for the misunderstanding and our discomfort. Clearly, Bob is a nice guy in person.
The house itself was very nice, and Sedgefield itself is a great place to stay.
