Nicky has got to be the best airbnb experience I ever had. Such a wonderful lady she is, her hospitality, love towards life and people is contagious. On the first night, we had trouble finding the location and called her. She immediately drove her car to the main road so we could find the way. It was late when we reached and she already had crackers, cheese, wine and snacks prepared for us. It was colder than usual and she made sure she did all that she could to keep us warm. Nicky then brought us on a tour of the house for us to choose our room of choice. As she had to turn in early, she left us to make our dinner and told us not to do the dishes as she could just throw everything into the dishwasher next morning. It was such a nice gesture. Nevertheless we did the dishes, had a great sleep and woke up a sumptous breakfast of fresh fruits, coffee, tea, toast, eggs (fresh from the hen house), tomatoes and bacons. She even got the help of her neighbours when we had issue with our rented car. When we came back from our road trip, she again had cookies, cheese and crackers waiting for us. Her animals were lovely - Susu the cat and Jessie the dog was our favourite. As it was really colder than usual, she also got out her thermal bottles to make sure we were warmed up. Our second and last day, there was sumptous breakfast once again and offered to did our laundry which was washed and dried in less than an hour. Before we left Nicky brought us to a trip to Tower Hills Reserve where we say wallabies, emus and taught us a fair bit on the aboriginal culture at the visitor centre. She left us for us to explore and climb a short walk up to the peak. The view was absolutely breathe taking. When we returned to her place, we petted her horse, alpacas and donkey before bidding a difficult goodbye to her. Her place shouldn't be a place you should miss whenever on the great ocean road. Wish we had more time to just relax and spend more time with her and her place.

Amazing experience! This is absolutely the best airbnb house I have ever been to. Nicky's place is cozy and fabulous. I really wish that we could stay another night. My kids love the animals and almost cried when they were leaving. Nicky prepared a great Australian style breakfast for all of us and we truly had a blast. You can miss the twelve apostles on the great ocean road but don't miss out this farm stay!

Our family of 4 adults had a wonderful 2-night stay in Nicky's home. The 2-storey house was rustic, homey, welcoming and comfortable. The house sits on a 5-acre property which is also home to alpacas, sheep, 2 dogs, a cat, a horse, a donkey, a parateel, a cockatoo, and some chickens - a great place for animal lovers. The farm is right against the Tower Hill Nature Reserve so we would wake up to the curious stares of the kangaroos in the reserve just beyond the back fence. Nicky was a wonderful host who went out of her way to make us feel at home and comfortable. She made sure there was a nice fire going in the wood fireplace when we arrived and fixed us much-needed warm drinks. The breakfast she cooked us each morning was simply scrumptious! We were pleasantly surprised by a special treat she arranged for us - a potluck dinner together with a couple of her neighbours. It was a delightful evening with pleasant conversation shared over good food and glasses of wine. Nicky welcomed us not just into her home, but into her life as well. And that's what made our time at the Tower Hill Farmstay truly memorable.

Nicky is a friendly host and has a lovely home. The kids were able to feed the animals which they loved. The house is in a beautiful and peaceful setting. It's is important to note however, The house is listed as entire home which is incorrect. It should be advertised as a private room and priced as such. We were able to choose a bedroom on the upstairs level which has three bedrooms and a bathroom. The downstairs area which consist of the lounge room, kitchen, guest bedroom, Nicky's bedroom and main bathroom. Nicky lives in the home and guests share the lounge room and kitchen with her. Due to this we all felt a bit uncomfortable, the kids were whispering and we felt we couldn't lay on the couch and relax as Nicky was home in the open plan kitchen and lounge room a lot of the time. We did receive a lovely cooked breakfast both mornings. We arrived at 3pm, it was a very cold and wet day, Nicky welcomed us and the fire was going since 8 am but the house was still cold as it is large with very a very high ceiling. Nicky stated she could not turn the reverse cycle heating on as she had an issue with the power company for a week and on our arrival day they were testing the energy usage. ( we had booked our stay several weeks in advance) as a result, I was wearing my ski jacket inside as I was playing cards with my 8 year old. This lasted only for several hours until the power company notified her of her power usage, she then turned on the reverse cycle heater. I suppose I was just surprised and somewhat disappointed that when I walked in the house smelled like dog (I know it can be difficult to avoid, we have a dog), the house was very cold and discovering that it was not an "entire house" for private use at all, it was just a private room. Otherwise our stay was enjoyable, the kids loved the animals, the bed was comfortable, it was a nice cookes breakfast and the area is beautiful.

If you are looking for an authentic local experience of a farmstay, do consider nicky's place! Though we only stayed for a night, nicky was so hospitable and even went out.of her way to allow us to interact with her animals at the farm! Not to forget the wonderful breakfast that she prepared the next morning! :) it was such a fantastic experience that i would highly recommend!

Nicky is just such a wonderful host and we were so lucky to have met her! She is hardwork, humour and wisdom wrapped in a gorgeous (URL HIDDEN) is not just a BnB but a whole experience package that she offers. From the minute we stepped in, we felt so pampered and taken care of. Her gorgeous animals have left such an indelible impression on our minds . The alpacas are beyond cute!!! We loved sharing food, laughs and stories over a warm bowl of delicious soup for evening supper. At midnight we witnessed the Milky Way from our room- an impossible sight in the hustle and bustle of the city and the perfect birthday gift to my husband :) . In the morning we were greeted by a scrumptious and nutritious spread of breakfast. In all this experience was like a road trip to paradise . Thank you Nicky! We miss you already !! Our love to Jazz and Jess Xx

I hope you travel and live together forever. You are my first guests of Indian birth and I loved the way you are traveling and sharing your journey. Your love for new experiences is amazing. One day I might become a grandma for your family! PS The Pinot Noir is even better tonight, having matured in the larder overnight. xx

You're traveling The Great Ocean Road and you're hoping for a relaxing, but entertaining sleepover on a farm on top of the Tower Hill crater? That's me.
I'm a farmer, retired teacher, alpaca breeder, and horse trainer, living a lifestyle dream. Usually only do festivals, eg. Port Fairy Folk Festival, Lake School of Celtic Music and Dance and the annual Irish Festival.
Weekday or weekend bookings are OK with me. Families who love animals are great. The Port Fairy Golf Course and Southern Ocean waves are 2 kms down the road. Golf package or wave package negotiable! Children under 5 free.
If your travel plans include The Great Ocean Road, this is the perfect spot to start or end your day. If you are a keen bush walker, the crater and lakes are a must and you can view your intended hike from your bedroom balcony. A 2 night stay is recommended, so you can take in the nature of the farm and its surrounds.
Of airbnb hosting this year, I have only praises to sing as Tower Hill Farm Stay gathers momentum. Visitors from China, Europe and Scotland have got to walk with native animals along the boundary fence. The farm crew have been very obliging with photographers as well.
