The cottage is located behind the main house and you are always welcome to request additional towels, bed linens or the occasional cup of sugar :). During Irma we lost the branches of our big mango tree wich gave us so much joy and beautiful fruit during many years, but the garden is still beautiful and with plenty of shade for those summer Miami months. We have a cold shower out in the garden which provides a refreshing break when hanging out in the yard. We have comfortable tables and chairs and lights that turn on automatically at dusk both for the trail, the large dining table and the back yard. We do hope you take some time to enjoy the cricket and frog sounds which are so much part of this tropical landscape.

We love our 1926 home. It is beautiful. It is an honor and a pleasure for us to be able to share our Miami experience with our guests. Unfortunately we can't accommodate pets, but we love them! We have a cat in the premises which is ours (or better we belong to him) and a stray, Carlitos. They live outside looking for lizards, butterflies and the occassional bird that Carlitos captures and we rescue. We will keep them away from you and they will not be a bother. Guests have access to the garden and the deck.
We have a deep love for our property and we hope our guests can appreciate the care we put into it. We appreciate our guests keeping it clean and organized. We do not allow smoking anywhere in the property and unfortunately we can't accept pets (but we love them :( )We have a cat that roams the property, sometimes with friends. He will not come into your cottage and will not bother you at all. We recycle religiously and will provide the necessary containers to separate the trash. We understand the world's need for water and we save water as much as we can. We provide fresh linens on a weekly basis on or demand as well as towels. We live in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood and we hope you understand that loud noise after 10PM weekdays is discouraged. If you are bringing visitors, kindly check with us in advance. No parties are allowed. We provide you with keys to the property. Please understand that if you lose them we have to replace them at a cost of $35.00. We ask you not to take the regular towels to the beach. Please ask us and we will gladly provide you with larger, brighter and way more fun towels for your beach day. We ask you to keep us informed about your time of arrival in case you are either delayed or are arriving earlier than scheduled. We request from our guests to provide us with a window of 1 to 1.5 hours of arrival time the day before arrival so we can plan appropriately for your welcome. I love nature, beautiful things, kindness, intelligence, generosity, a sense of humor creativity and honor. I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia, I attended a very progressive school during the sixties, had a short stint as a host for a children's TV program and then I went to law school. While in university I discovered that the world was huge! filled with ideas, interesting people, fantastic possibilities. I went to the mountains north of Colombia with my boyfriend to a totally primitive and breathtaking beautiful place. We lived there for over a year in a commune that formed itself in a very organic way. This was one of the best times ever. We had nothing and needed nothing else. Friendships forged during that time have been a constant in all of our lives and to this day not only are we close but our children as well. Alas! The practice of law was not my cup of tea and I pursued different and wonderful areas of development ( I still do ) with mixed results but with really amazing travels and experiences. Today I find myself living in the US and loving being a host for airbnb. I did not imagine I would like it so much but I certainly do. Our home in Miami is beautiful and our cottages in Colombia as well. I believe in paying forward and in the strength of kindness and compassion. I enjoy sharing my love for Latin and world music, exciting art, really good writing and good conversation. My experience as a host has been tremendously rewarding. Meeting so many new people in particular so many young people is great. Listening to their stories, expectations and hopes is wonderful. As a host I encourage you to ask questions from us particularly if there is any feature you consider important in your decision making process. We answer immediately so that you have all the elements in hand to make a sound and accurate decision based on facts. Our aim is to make sure our guests are comfortable, feel safe, perceive value and are happy with their choice.
