Our guests LOVE staying here.

Tidelands 2 is completely *redone*. We put lovely and thoughtful touches throughout. Best part? The location! Check our pics—the ocean is just across the street!

There's More? Read on...

Dónde vas a estar

Mexico Beach, Florida, Estados Unidos

Mexico Beach is the best of unpretentious and laid-back Old Florida: beautiful, clean, un-crowded beaches and a friendly, small-town vibe. Our beaches are dog-free and leave-no-trace, so no worries when arriving for the day -- you'll only find long stretches of clean sand. Best part? You won't find the crowds of PCB and Destin. The stretch of beach directly across from our building is consistently un-crowded, which is great for morning and evening walks and uninterrupted views. If you want ultimate chill, you've found it. If you love outdoor activities like fishing, beachcombing, and kayaking, this is the place for you.

PLAN YOUR VISIT: Hop on beautiful Highway 98 and enjoy the whole area. Each nearby town has its own character...
Port St. Joe's great restaurants and large fishing outfitter
Cape San Blas's beach walks, State Park, Bay fishing and kayaking
Apalachicola's own Oyster City Brewing, FL history, super cute shops

Top Restaurant suggestions: Indian Pass Raw Bar near Cape San Blas, Shipwreck Raw Bar 5 minutes away in St. Joe Beach, Krazyfish Grille 15 mins away in Port St. Joe, The View 10 mins away in Windmark Beach, Owl Tap Room in Apalachicola.

Mexico Beach is coming on strong after Hurricane Michael in 2018, but you will still see construction around town and even occasionally in the building. Restaurants favorites Mango Marley's, Caribbean Coffee, Crazy Beach Pizza and Ice Cream, and Killer Seafood are open, plus the new Tacos Chaparitta. Many more restaurants are planning to open. We have a small but well-stocked grocery store and a liquor store just a few blocks away, with an excellent Dollar General 5 mins away in St. Joe Beach and fully-stocked Piggly Wiggly grocery store just 15 mins away in Port St. Joe.

Mexico Beach is part of a group of small coastal towns in the known as The Forgotten Coast. It's fun to drive Highway 98 and check out these nearby towns, as each has a different feel. St. Joe Beach is just 5 mins away and has a the popular Shipwreck Raw Bar and a well-stocked Dollar General. Watermark Beach has excellent The View restaurant with Gulf-view dining plus a great walking/running/bike path by the ocean that is formerly part of Highway 98. We depend on Port St. Joe for its many great restaurants -- only 15 mins down the road. Cape San Blas is a gem with Gulf on one side and Bay on the other. Great for fishing, kayaking, and stargazing. St. Joseph State Park the end of the Cape has hiking, fishing, and great Bay and Gulf views -- just a gorgeous time alone in nature. Oyster town Apalachicola is a great rain-day destination with its historical resources, plenty of cute shops, and great restaurants.

We provide detailed activity and restaurant suggestions in our digital Welcome Guide when you book.

--Go hunting for sand fleas in the sand (kids love this!) and use them to fish from the shore.
--Call Barefoot Rentals to drop off kayaks and stand-up paddle boards for the teens.
--If you like craft beer, drive over to Apalachicola before dinner and visit Oyster City Brewing Company. The atmosphere is next-level chill: Everyone brings their dogs and sits outside, beer in hand, to chat awhile. 10/10 you'll make a new friend if you want to.
--Spend half a day scalloping in St. Joseph Bay from Port St. Joe. Our best scalloping experience was with a boat captain who brought all the gear and knew all the best spots. Scallop season is Aug. 16 - Sep. 21.
--Grab a beach towel and stargaze from the beach on a clear night.
--Walk the nearly-empty beaches at the northwest side of town.
--More activities parasailing, paddle boards, wave runners, golf in Port St. Joe
