A basic caravan, with fresh bed linen and towels, parked on the side garden with cooking facilities and utensils, bottled water, camping toilet, use of shower in main house at £3 a shower, microwave, toaster and kettle. This is an outdoor space, but it is homely and if you like to caravan and camp this is a great cheap overnight base with which to go out and explore Dorset, it is not a 5* hotel, and we do have insects. I run a dog sitting business from home, and am very friendly and welcoming.

Otros aspectos destacables

This is a basic overnight stay and has been priced accordingly; I would ask you to set your expectations of this space based on this point. I have also made the decision that I am looking for guests that have signed up to Airbnb and have reviews from other hosts, as I received a booking from an individual who was not whom they identified themselves to be, and am now a little more cautious that I was initially.

The caravans are on the pebbled and grassed drive. They are lovely but basic, if you love caravans you know what to expect, not a luxury hotel :).

Dogs: We need to be agreed about beforehand, really 1 maximum. I have a cat and a dog and chickens.

Showers: You will share our bathroom for use of the shower, because we do not provide a key to access the house please pre book a shower by 9pm the night before, or just take pot luck that we are in. The shower is available between 6:30 pm to 8pm weekdays. Weekends not before 10:30am to 12 lunchtime (I need a lay in).

Cars and Parking: Do not drive up the drive. Please leave your car on the road, not blocking anyones drive way.

Arrivals: if you are going to be later than 9pm please let me know in advance. If its after 10pm then I will be in bed and the caravan will be left open. If you are later than 10pm then please bring your luggage up the drive the next day. If you are arriving after 12pm then it must be with agreement or come the next day, I cant keep upsetting the neighbours.

Water: drinking water will be left in water bottles in the caravan or outside of the caravan and there is a hose and tap from the garage. I do try to freeze bottles of water and leave them in the caravans in hot weather to make sure guests have a really cold refreshing drink. There is no running water.

The electric heater: (available in autum), is very efficient and just needs to be left on 1 and 1 and it keeps the caravan permanently warm. There are extr covers provided to make sure you do not cold.

Please park your car in the close, please do not leave the car at the top of the drive as you will be blocked in. Please park on the road side near the garages that you passed when you came into 2 Springfield, it just keeps all the neighbours happy. Please try not to block any drives.

I will leave you a bed already made up.

There are bins outside, and a small bin inside.

Some tea and coffee bedding are provided at the start of your stay plus toilet rolls, towels, cleaning things, dish cloths and tea towels. There is emergency food all priced to cover the initial cost. If you need to use the food, just replace it before you leave or leave the cost of the items as labeled. There are electric lights, a Microwave and electric hob, toaster and kettle, crockery and cutlry. The only thing you you need to bring is yourself and clothes.
Locking and Keys: Please note the caravans only lock from the inside, so take your valuables with you. If you are going to be later than 9pm go straight to the caravan, ps bring a torch.

Enjoy your stay.
We are here to be asked for help and want to make sure you have an enjoyable stay
Please tidy up the caravan when you leave, preferably leave it in the same condition it was in when you came. We will remove all dirty laundry and towels and hoover up for the next guests. We provide bins in the caravan and there are some on the drive.

This space is not to booked for children under 6 years old, I run a dog sitting business, the dogs are separate from guests.

No of Guests:
Each caravan is for a maximum of 2 people, (dogs to be agreed prior to booking)
Insects and Spiders:
The caravans are outside in a leafy area in the country, there are a variety of insects that come and visit you especially when you have the lights on in the evening, I can do nothing about this, spiders spin webs very quickly - (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) says 1 hour to spin an orb web, I can clean the space and then bring a guest in, and there is a web, sorry but that is life, it does not mean that the space has not been cleaned, it just means that a spider has spun a web.

If you like camping and caravaning they are great, if you do not you will not be happy here; it is not a 5* hotel. I would love you to visit us and stay but please be aware of the suitability of this venue for your needs.

Aspectos que también debes tener en cuenta
Hay mascotas en la propiedad - I run a dog sitting business and have cats and dogs of my own on the property.
No se puede estacionar en la propiedad - Park in the close which is safe and only local traffic.
Limitaciones de servicios - There is a composite camping toilet, no running water it is bottled, showers cost £3 and must be booked in the main house.

Such a lovely couple running this simple and cosy alternative to the usual. The caravan is in the centre of Cerne Abbas which is a perfect picturesque Dorset village. Jo was so helpful and friendly. We'll definately be back.

Really good location and a lovely, welcoming host! Could do with a quick clean but we booked last minute so it was expected, very cosy though!

Respuesta de Jo:
Not a pleasant experience, They came as a last minute booking because Curts girlfriend didn't want to sleep in a tent but in a proper bed. They arrived 1 hour later than they had requested, complained about the toilet, said they had found underwear (which was a pillow case), said there were crumbs, spiders webs, and that Curt was asthmatic and that he couldn't deal with the damp air, that they were cold (there is heater in the caravan, they could have used it, and another duvet, and a blanket, plus 4 pillows and 1 kingsized duvet). They arrived at 6pm, when it was light, they had a tent in their car and a local camp site 1 mile away that did have spaces, yet they elected to stay for 1 night (for free). They said that they stood in dog poo in my drive when they took their bikes off the car. I checked for dog poo in the drive... nothing, there is in my dog run, which is closed off to visitors. They joined airbnb in August 2017, they do not have any reviews, they have never stayed in a caravan before, they did not communicate any issues to me before leaving and then texted me to say they had pictures of the issues, I would like to see them, I took a picture of how they left the caravan, this is being sent to Airbnb. I refunded the whole trip, because I do not want a guest to be unhappy, but it has made me very aware that I now need to question my guests in the future prior to coming to stay. The caravans are clean, they are basic, they are caravans, they have insects because we are outdoors, they have a microwave, a kettle, a toaster, tea, coffee, sugar, all catering equipment, you get a lot for the 15 a night I charge, weekends 22, so for 1 person that is 7.50 to 11 a night. This time I feel taken advantage of, an actually I wished I had not refunded their fees. I do not need to give private feed back because I have said all I need to publicly.

Truly brilliant week staying here!! Brought my daughter down for a last minute birthday getaway and it turned into the best week! We walked dogs around the village, and saw lots of history. Jo is like an encyclopaedia on local history. She took us to a local beach and taught my daughter to snorkel which was amazing. The caravan was warm and cosy and suited us just fine! If you want all mod cons and no personality you should spend £1000 and get a caravan in Cornwall, if however you want a wonderful personal approach and a great holiday at a place with someone who will help you out, give you ideas of places to visit in the area then here is where I'll come for the foreseeable. Genuinely loved staying here, having never visited Dorset before I felt like I wasn't left looking for places to visit, Jo gave us plenty of ideas and info which made it so much nicer. Thank you so much for making our stay so great l, can't wait to come back. Look forward to visiting again!!!

Had the most amazing stay with Jo, Mark and Maggie. The caravan is beautiful and the bed is extremely comfortable. Jo even took pity on us and snuck some food into the caravan for us because we didn't bring any. We had absolutely no complaints at all and wish we had booked for longer! The town is the perfect little town, with gorgeous hillside views and exactly what you would expect to see in an English town. Honestly a must see! We will definitely be back :)

Bubbly and outgoing, likes outdoor activities, has small icing business (decorating cakes and running classes) and vintage caravans, partner buys and sells vintage clothing, we all love to cook. We are a family of surfers and love the sea, lots of caravan and camping, walking, bit of rock climbing, lots of entertaining, we have a pool table outside, I do a bit of bell ringing - but I am not strange.
