We were not surprised by such review from Mathieu, but all bad comments are groundless act of his and his family's spite and envy.
Almoust whole week they spent inside apartment and on terrace,very rare on the beach and almost never traveled anywhere. So if it was true that apartment was uncomfortable and bad equipped how come they never said so and left it but even more they spent almoust every second there and did not want to leave it after check out time (Website hidden by Airbnb) the time of check out they went to the beach carelessly without giving any signs that they plan to leave the (Website hidden by Airbnb) the owner explained in details all house rules and gave them detailed informations important for their staying,these guests were acting often on their own,with negligence risking damages for the apartment and infeld, and they left without mentioning that they damaged the part of one wall and ruined one tile on the floor of the bathroom (owner keeps photos of it and he informed Airbnb right away).Owner didn't request compensation for that,but was very unpleasantly surprised especially since the guests were not preparing to leave the house even when time of check out passed and started packing only after owner reminded them about it,so they left the house with delay and without a word of explanation,which delay caused problems to the owner because cleaning of the apartment (they left it pretty unclean) and needed repairs were postponed in the situation when new guests were coming only in few hours.
The guests got everything that was presented on Airbnb and even more (we prepared fruit,wine and other drinks as welcome and personally welcomed the guests very warmly),but our impression was that they wanted to be served by the hosts and to get extra free services all according to their desires . The real cause for such bad comments is that on the first day they put the sleeping net in the frontyard tied to young olive tree and window, and the owner explained that it will break the tree and asked kindly to remove the net. After that they started behaving very bad. They put the net in the backyard on other two trees, and owner didn't say anything more but let it be,although this was pure act of not respecting the host nor the apartment. Lady in the house never activated water pump in the morning before the guests,or she did anything that would bother the guests,nor the pump is so loud as they wrote,and the guests were the only one showering in the middle of the night or early in the morning. It was written on Airbnb clearly that in this village there is no water supply system, so electrical pump is necessary to pull the water from the tank under house to the pipes and in 15 years of renting the apartment all guests understood very well that it is something that makes possible to have water through pipes and enjoy beauty of nature in pretty isolated place at the same time. Owner said to the guests to use water freely. They were letting it flow on purpose for 20 min and more,now it is clear it was provocation,nevertheless the host never told the word about it. In 15 years of renting this apartment, no one of guests had any similar or other such negative comments. House was fully equipped as in details previously described on Airbnb and visible on numerous photos, and guests never asked any questions before booking it or later,or ever said they were not satisfied with anything, because they were satisfied which is visible from the fact they didn't want to leave the house. Also they rated overall experience 3, cleanliness 5, accuracy 4, communication 5, arrival 5, location 5, value 1, which simply means that they wanted more time here,but with less money spent. Prices we won't cut down, because they are realistic,and other guests never said it was expensive,and if these guests expected better equipment or free services ,which never were included in our offer,then they should not have booked this apartment but other or go to hotel.Apartment has 76 m2 plus terrace 33 m2,we don't agree it is tiny apartment, just opposite.Even more we had families of 3,4 members etc paying the same price like Mathieu and his family for 6 members. Two sunbeds were on photo of the terrace and new hairdryer was available on the wadrobe in bedroom of the apartment. The guests could have taken sunbeds to the beach,which they did when they wanted. Apartment had and has two tables and 11 chairs plus this two sunbeds.On other beach platos if there were more sunbeds it was just because their owners have 3 or more apartments with totally 12,15 or more guests in those apartments, so even they don't offer one sunbed for each person,not even closely. If there were more sunbeds beach would be jammed with plastic chairs and we don't want that. Guests who want it other way can book freely other apartment. Dishwasher, or washing machine are not available nor they were ever part of the offer because there is no local water supply system and they would not work properly or long enough because this is village, isolated place with simple infrastructure mostly built by the owners of the houses and with clean sea. Who wants luxury of city lifestyle should book the apartment in city or big touristic places. Same is with Wi-Fi. If there were problems with connection that is on internet provider we can not influence. Even in owner hometown,second biggest town im Croatia with population of cca 200.000 citizens we have problems with internet connections. Internet traffic for these guests was 15 GB in a week which wouldn't be possible if internet was not working.
Although owner explained to the guests when showing the apartment that trash cans for deposing garbage from houses in village are at the entrance/exit of the village where it gets picked up by utility service,the guests kept all their garbage 3 to 4 days inside the apartment and when it began to stink the owner of the house warned the guests that they should take away their garbage to trash cans asap.That says enough about their ability to distinguish scents and causes of them. Photos of the bathroom are on Airbnb available and there was no smell from the sewage. Other thing is if they didnt open the window enough for ventilation. This guests rated cleanliness with 5, and we believe that says it enough .Please note that if this village had everything what city offers or hotels,then the sea and nature wouldn't be so clean and charming,place quiet and beaches with such platos.
All bad comments from these guests and their behaviour during their staying in our apartment are just showing by itself the lack of good upbringing,which they showed also here when their daughter 17 years old was loudly and tauntingly imitating locals and their talk in croatian.
Our opinion is that these guests act like their one euro is more worthy than our whole house,but the real truth is that they were envious and spiteful that they have to pay to enjoy it instead owning it like we do as our weekend house.
