This lovely room has an absolute prime location: right opposite the Golden Temple - 50m to the main entrance. Yet it is quietly located facing the backyard. The balcony offers a stunning view of the Golden Buddha.
This beautiful room is in a family home on the same property as the Oasis Guesthouse. As the family doesn't speak much English, it is managed by the same German/Sri Lankan couple that also runs the Oasis.
The double room is all modern, tiled, has a private bathroom with hot water shower and a little balcony facing the Oasis Guesthouse on one side and the Big Golden Buddha on the other. The view is stunning! The king size bed even fits tall people very well.
Our guests are welcome to join us at the Oasis Tourist Welfare Center any time in order to have a chat with us or the other guests. Just come over to get any information about sights or Sri Lankan culture or help planning your tour or simply to enjoy a cup of tea. Or to babysit our cute little baby daughter - born in April 2017 :)
We also offer to prepare a very delicious (non-spicy) rice and curry for dinner for a reasonable price. As the cooking takes a few hours, you had to let us know by latest 3 to 4 pm though.
Disponible para huéspedes
The room is upstairs on the first floor, you have to walk up a staircase. Other than the room itself you have access to the common places of the Oasis Guesthouse.
Atención a los huéspedes
Being the only "white girl" in town, I really enjoy meeting travelers and having a good chat and get news and ideas from all over the world and also share my knowledge about Sri Lanka and its culture. Therefore I regard the guesthouse more as my hobby and chance to meet travelers rather than a business. So I am very happy to spend some time with our guests chatting in our little garden. But of course it's not compulsory ;-)
On the other side, I can't guarantee to be available all the time these days. Life changes with a baby and sometimes she needs special attention, especially in the evenings. But I still try to be available for guests and chats as often as possible :)
Otros aspectos destacables
We have 3 dogs and 4 cats. All friendly. Our pets usually stay in the Oasis Guesthouse. So even if you are allergic, it shouldn't be a problem, as they don't have access to this room.
We have many pets here: Currently 4 cats and 3 dogs -and about a hundred monkeys ;-) Our cats and dogs are all tame and looking forward to meeting our guests. The sneaky monkeys are not tame and looking for to steal our guests' fruits... ;-)
As our dogs might not appreciate more company, pet dogs are not allowed.
Smoking is allowed outside in the garden or on the balcony.

Hello dear travelers,
I am a German girl and a backpacker by heart. It all started back in 2009, when I started my first big trip to Australia, where I spent 14 months backpacking. In the past 5 years ever since that, I have traveled nearly all countries in Southeast Asia and every now and then I get itchy feet again and plan my next trip.
During all my travels I happened to come across Sri Lanka and fall in love here. As I was free to settle anywhere (as I backpacker I gave up and quit everything in Germany before) and decided to stay in this beautiful country together with my now-husband Asela. Right back then in 2011 it was our dream to open up a cheap but amazing guesthouse, where everyone would just fall in love with the atmosphere. And the Oasis is very precious to us, as it was right here where we met for the first time, as this was the guesthouse I stayed back then.
Due to my love for traveling and staying in so many different hostels, guesthouses and hotels in many countries, I knew pretty well what a good accommodation needs to have in order to meet travelers needs. And also what gets them really exited about a place. So I try my best and step by step improve the Oasis Tourist Welfare Center with little things that make a travelers heart beat faster ;-)
Being an outgoing person, loving to talk to and spoil people and having worked in different hospitality jobs in Australia, I now try my very best to keep all our guests fully happy in our Oasis Guesthouse, just according to my life motto "You only life once, so enjoy life to the fullest".
So I hope to welcome you to our lovely jewel, the old but cosy Oasis Tourist Welfare Center.
