We are a farming family, relatively new to the Diamond Harbour area and relishing the new challenge it brings.
My partner Pete and I farm over 700 ewes, 2-tooth replacements, various amounts of lambs and breeding rams, 30 head of cattle, 11 horses, about 10 chickens for free eggs, 5 farm working dogs and 2 Wire haired fox terriers.
We hunt on our horses during the winter, Tallyho
The beach is literally at our front door, less than a 1 minute walk and your feet are wet, unless you stop to take your 'speedos' off!
Our farm is rich with all sorts of history and we are keen to share what we have learned so far.
Ocean-liners, ships, fishing boats and pleasure craft can be seen regularly from the lounge window passing at distance on their ways to and from the Lyttleton port. At night there are no lights to be seen apart from some small flashing navigation beacons across the other side of the harbour or the odd cabin light.
