Your hosts Marie & Neil aim to provide you with a warm welcome and a memorable experience. Together we moved to France to begin a new lifestyle providing 'holidays with a difference' where we can welcome families and individuals. Marie originally from Edinburgh, was a professional Scottish dancer & went on to become a teacher of the art. She then taught anatomy, physiology & nutrition. Later opportunity arose to embark on a career as a training consultant with a prestigious company. Marie is also trained as a holistic therapist, fitness trainer and personal counselor.
Neil was employed as a research scientist for 27 years & led a successful business venture, (8 years) as Managing Director. Neil is personable, has a wealth of life experience and pursues a diversity of artistic interests. This includes playing bass guitar; if you stay in the summer months you might catch a live performance in one of the surrounding villages.
Guests say the photo's are good but just don't do the property & gardens justice!

Some of our Guests comments:
Our guests leave messages in the Guestbook - here are just some extracts!
July - August 2014 - This year we opted for a change from the usual package holiday and now there is no turning back, since we were spoilt on this holiday. The Cottage, location ,area and tranquility is everything we could have wished for. The hospitality of Marie and Neil are kind, warm people who made our stay sublime! And Marie is an wonderful cook. I would recommend all the food on the menu, we tried most of it, in particular the Mediterranean chicken and plum crumble. Pete, Emma, Bea and Iris
July 2014 - We had a wonderful relaxing holiday at LeRaphael. Dining en Famille was just fantastic, Marie and Neil are the perfect hosts and great company. We treated ourselves to a first ever aromatherapy massage, truly wonderful! The girls will really miss the pool. We will be back again.

June 2014 - We had such a wonderful time. Most of all we loved chilling by the pool in the wonderful garden and splashing in the pool. Thank you so much for your lovely welcoming hospitality. Karen, Paddy and Aidan
Dordogne in Autumn"This was our second visit of summer and that very fact should tell you how much we thought of the place. We again stayed in L'Oceana but our parents took LeRaphael so we spent much of our time in there. We found on our first trip that the description on the website befitted the place very well indeed. What can't be shown on any website , however, is the feel of the place. Many places sell themselves as quiet and tranquil, but this place really is! Idyllic is the only word I can use. My wife and I found L'Oceana the perfect size for a couple, with the outdoor area complementing the interior very well. Everything is spotless, and the decor and fittings are quite exquisite. We knew Neil and Marie from our first visit, and as we stayed for longer on this second visit we had time to dine with them - the food was a delight and it was a wonderful way to spend an evening in something other than an owner /guest environment - which was never the case anyway. We've already passed on details of this super hideaway to some select friends and family who have kids and can only travel in school holidays - our thinking being that they'd not book the place up when we want to travel. Away from the property we took advice from Neil and Marie as to where to visit and eat and we came up trumps every time.... We dined in the town Aubterre for three nights in three separate restaurants - all fantastic. We also visited the local la Licorne which was the culinary highlight of our trip. Towns we enjoyed we Aubterre, Brantome and Perigeux but the visit to Lac de Jamaye was a day to remember. The beach is great for kids and grown ups alike, and the bistro we found to be most satisfactory. I think I like the area so much because of it's resemblance to my home country of Kent, and its small villages.
