This is a historical and private house perched above the idyllic village of PLAKA. It has 3 bedroom with double beds and one room with 2 single beds. There are 2.5 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious living room. The house easily accommodates 2 families with children or up to 3 couples. You can enjoy the summer outdoor living on the big terrace, where you can dine, relax in a long chair or just marvel at the view.

This is 120 year old house is perched above the charming car free village of PLAKA in Milos. If you want spacious, quiet, private, cozy and spectacular, this place is for you. The idyllic village of Plaka is at the doorstep, with restaurants and bars only 5 minutes away. Most beaches of the island can be accessed by car within 15-30 minutes.

- On the upper floor, there is the spacious living room (1 daybed; 90cm), the kitchen and Master Bedroom (room with the blue wooden floor; 1 bed 160cm), leading to a bathroom with tub.
- In the independent side wing, there are 2 bedrooms (room with red-white floor: 2 beds à 90cm; and black-white room: 1 daybed; 140cm) with a private shower and toilet in the courtyard.
- On the ground floor there are 2 additional rooms (1 bed 120cm and 2 foldable mattresses) with a small toilet and shower next to the washing machine and storage room.
- All these rooms have access to the terrace.

This historic building was designed as a private home in the late 19th century. During World-War II it served as the Headquarters of the German troops on the island due to the spectacular view over the whole island. Then it became a school and the home of the local priest before we - diaspora greeks - acquired it in 2003.

Since then, we run this little jewel with respect to its history and consciously preserve the original structure, floors and materials. Hence, we refrained from a too invasive refurbishment. For example, there is not air conditioning - but no worries, the massive walls keep the heat effectively outside during the summer.

Today, the house is only rented for a few weeks per years when the owners are not using it themselves or for friends.

You will have access to the front and back garden of the house. If there are fruit or vegetables, please feel free to eat them. You can also access the rooftop via stairs.

Atención a los huéspedes

You'll be welcomed by our Property Manager at the house who will hand over the key to you and show you the house. If you arrive outside of the checkin hours, the door will be left unlocked with the keys on the living room table. Also, a gardener comes every second day early in the morning to water the plants in the garden. Even if we are not on the island, rest assured that we will be available via airbnb/email/phone/sms to make your arrival and stay as smooth as possible, while there will always be a local to help you out if there is any time of need.

WATER :
Do not drink tap water.
You can use it for washing and cleaning and it is perfectly safe to brush your teeth but it's not drinkable.
Please bear in mind that water on the Cycladic islands is scarce…and some times there might be water shortages
TOILETS :
Although our toilets are connected to the central sewage system, please DO NOT THROW anything in the toilets, as this may cause unpleasant problems that may ruin your vacations.
ELECTRICITY :
To save energy please turn off the lights when you are not in the house.
SMOKING :
Smoking is permitted only outside the house.
COMMON HOURS :
Please respect the neighbors' sleeping hours and do not make noise during 15:00-17:00 and after 23:00.
HOUSE DAMAGES :
Please respect the house and the amenities and let us know of any damage as it happens.

We ask our guests to respect our special home, and use it gently as they would their own home. Please remove wet swimsuits before sitting on chairs or beds as they leave ugly stains. Please leave the house tidy when you leave and the kitchen and dishes all clean. We are very proud of what we have to offer. We ask also to preserve the quiet that is so valued by others at this end of the village. You've never seen such truly spectacular views and majestic sunrises as we offer! And we ask that guests enjoy Milos, and help preserve its magic.

ADDITONAL RULES
- Water is a precious good on Milos that needs to be gained from the sea water. In high season it is possible that the municipality is short of water and you won't have tab water for a few hours.
- It is often windy on Milos. To preserve windows and doors, please attach them with the hooks.

The house has superb location and one of the greatest views that you will ever see. Stephanie is a great host. We had an issue during our stay (caused by the municipality, not our host) and Stephanie was very forthcoming in providing her assistance. I would certainly recommend her house!!

This incredible home was the highlight of our Greek stay. Everything just too perfect from the incredible vista over the whole island, the finishes and gorgeous clean interior, the rich gardens and fresh fruit and vegetables we got to enjoy, the easy access to Plaka and a short drive to any one of the exquisite beaches on Milos. Our stay was marked with the sounds of church bells, and bird song and wonderful perfume of the flowers from the garden. The home has everything you can think of as well as the most incredible out door shower under a bougenvilla in full bloom! I cannot reccomend this property more. Simply a wonderful addition to anyone's holiday.

Amazing house, beautiful views, fantastic location on the island. Stephanie was helpful before and during out stay, as was the gardener and cleaner. The beauty of the property is that it is on a hill, but for anyone wanting to take heels you might find that you don't end up using them - I stuck to my flats to navigate the pretty hills on the island and in the locality!

Simple, simple beauty. We had a dreamy stay at Stephanie's villa. The house has spectacular views and outdoor spaces. Indoors is spartan but lovely. We hope to return again sometime soon!
