El lugar

This drawing room apartment, sleeping four people, is situated on the first floor and has attractive leafy views both front and rear. An entrance hallway has rooms radiating off it. The beautifully proportioned sitting room, with lovely Georgian features, is at the front of the building and overlooks the attractive central garden. This room provides comfortable seating grouped round an attractive marble fireplace over which a large mirror hangs; enhancing the feeling of light and space. Large bookshelves house an interesting array of reading matter and there is also a TV with DVD Player making this a lovely spot in which to relax.

A light and spacious dining kitchen has vistas towards the north of the city. A large table in the centre of the room provides seating for 6. The well designed kitchen has plenty of cupboards and workspace making this an ideal choice for those intending to make the most of using the local produce on offer and spend some time cooking. There is plenty of cookware, crockery and cutlery provided as well as a hob and oven, fridge freezer, and dishwasher.

The apartment has two comfortable bedrooms both with plenty of hanging and drawer space. The Master bedroom which is decorated in calming neutral tones has a double bed and overlooks the garden. A second twin bedroom is to the rear of the property and has beds which can be arranged as a double on request.

A hallway off the kitchen leads to a utility room with washer/drier and also to the very spacious bathroom with original wooden floors which has a bath with shower over, a w.c and wash hand basin.

The entire apartment

We meet guests at the apartment until 6pm. Late arrivals can collect keys from a central address. Your apartment has a folder detailing how appliances work and gives details of internet access etc.

Stockbridge has a very distinct character and offers a wonderful selection of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Local businesses include an excellent cheese-monger, butcher, wine merchant and fishmonger. St Stephen's Street is well known for its eclectic mix of Antique shops and fascinating boutiques. In this part town one is close to the wonderful open spaces of Inverleith Park and the Botanical Gardens. The Water of Leith meanders through Stockbridge and its walkway is well worth exploring - the energetic can walk either to Leith or out to the Modern Art Gallery and beyond. Keen swimmers have the recently restored Victorian Glenogle Baths on their doorstep.

Really beautiful flat in an ideal location. Highly recommended with just one caveat: if you're going in the winter, check the heating in the living room (and master bedroom) has been fixed – otherwise it's chilly.

Hi Pamela, I do apologize for missing your message over the weekend. This was entirely my fault I emailed the owner to check about your bags, but forgot to message you and say that it was OK. I think that the radiators may have been turned off... there is no thermostat in the apartment and so the heat is controlled from the individual radiators. The apartment does have a black information folder with instructions for the apartment and emergency numbers for use out of office hours, for future reference, this is a safer way of contacting us over the weekend when we only run a skeleton staff. Apologies once again for any inconvenience caused. Kind regards, Anabel

Amazing apartment and great neiberhood. The aprtment was more then fully equiped and followed with eazy intructions. Very recomanded.

We were met by Sally at the property who gave us a prompt introduction to this lovely apartment. Such a gorgeous place with everything that we needed. Sally was easy to contact to make arrangements with for departure too. Non fussy simple rental process thank you.
