Yarra Valley Manor (Glencraigie Cottages) is located near the Yarra River. Beautiful mountains & rivers surround. The BBQ is great for sunny days. Go cycling, walking, hiking, kayaking, swimming, to local markets or just sit in front of the logfire.
The Yarra Valley Manor is the original homestead in Millgrove, and orignally covered a sprawling 4000 acres.
The property originally had it's own bridge across the Yarra River and many buildings dotted the grounds. Some of the original buildings were destroyed by fire but the ‘Millgrove Mansion’ (as it is referred to by the locals) still remains.
The Servants Quarters, a long building with a series of quirky and unique rooms still remains, along with the 'Old Barn,' 'The Bakery' and the ‘Firehouse.’
Three two bedroom chalets sit on the property and overlook the Donna Buang Mountain ranges. All three chalets comfortably fit 4 people. All chalets have their own balconies and enclosed log fires, queen size beds and DVD players and televisions.
This chalet has a queen bed in bedroom one and two singles in bedroom two.
****We do not provide breakfast****
This chalet is suitable for quiet and very clean pets.
BBQing facilities are also available on the property just at the side of the first Chalet near the open grassy communal area.
What makes the Yarra Valley Manor Chalets a beautiful place to stay is the quiet and peaceful Yarra River only 400 meters walk (back down the road) from our doorstep, the wildlife, the Warburton to Lilydale Rail trail only 600 meters away and the quirky cafes and markets that make up the Yarra Valley.
In Summer you can spend lazy days by the river or you can ride the smooth rail trail to visit the local area. Local wineries provide gourmet food and wine and the Warburton golf course is less than a 5 minute drive away.
The historic O’Shannessy Aqueduct trail, Melbourne’s former primary water source sits behind the property and provides beautiful views down to the valley below. In Winter head to Mount Donna for tobogganing and snow play or to climb the look out tower and then return for a beautiful evening in front of the log fire with a coffee from our new coffee machines.
We encourage guests to have as much fun as possible while they stay with us. But in the best interests of all of our guests loud noise should be kept to a minimum.
We recently moved out to the Yarra Valley for a more peaceful and quiet life amidst the trees, mountains and rivers.
We have a one year old boy and both work part time in marketing and public relations.
We love to ride bikes on the trails and roads here in the countryside and up the mountains.
