Teduh is an excellent stay! Lots of emphasis on community, and quality hospitality. Great location, very helpful staff, clean. Don't forget to take Blue Bird taxi to and from CGK (there are lots of imposter companies that are at least twice as costly) -- I paid just (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)ck to CGK, as opposed to the 300,000 some of the companies will try to charge. Not all of the showers are hot, but no problem as it's quite warm in Jakarta anyhow! Would stay here again and recommend to others!

The hostel is very clean and very nice, despite the appearance from outside. It looks like it is down a rather shady alley, in a building that looks questionable, but once you get inside, it is really one of the nicest hostels I have stayed at. Even though the rooms are for a large number of people, each bed is in its own little cubby with a curtain, so you actually have more privacy than most 4 bed dorms. The location is somewhat away from the crowd of other tourists, so invest in a bus card and you will be set to explore the city. It is right on a main bus line, and very near a train station, so getting around should not be an issue. In summation, very good. You will be pleased.

Teduh is brand new hostel and everything is very clean and comfortable, kitchen was provided for hot tea and coffee, with a fridge for drinks as well in the evenings. The first floor has a bamboo area for chilling and for smokers as well (I don't smoke but it's pretty cool). Wifi is free in the house and Steven is the owner of the place, so being the first few customers it's really nice to have the boss to host you in person! I chose this area because I was coming in from the kota train station, so it's literally just across the road! It's a one day transit to see a small bit of jakarta and kota tua was regarded as a pretty interesting place to check out since it was untouched since Dutch rule. Pretty cool!! You can take really good photos there with the old buildings haha there are also museums but I didn't go in since I'm not a museum person. Oh I did go to ITC mangga dua, which is a few mins by vehicle, it has amazingly cheap goods and fashion so definitely worth a visit there as well. Overall, good short stay to see a hint of jakarta. Definitely a different city from jogja and bali, but it's a nice pit stop to see the capital (and its traffic...)

It was a great experience to be able to host Junghans on his trip to Jakarta. He kept his area spotless and offered help to set up breakfast in the morning. Definitely a great guest and is always welcome to return to the property.

Teduh Hostel is surely recommended for any backpacker who came visiting Jakarta. Its in the area of Kota Tua--probably one of the main reason to visit Jakarta is to visit the old city of Jakarta itself. The host are awesome, very kind and informative.

The place is extremely clean and welcoming once you enter the actual building. The staff were extremely friendly and spoke a little bit of English which helped overcome the language barrier. They even had a laptop to loan to guests. Bring a lock along with you because the spacious lockers requires you to use your own lock! The actual bed was very comfortable and everyone had a curtain which allowed for privacy. Our only gripe is subjective but when the curtains were drawn down, a few of us found it slightly warm. Overall however, it was a great place to stay!
